Motorised 2 port valve; what has slowed it?

They no longer use this setup in current units, so they have no interest in changing the "old system" firmware. 6 years old? Not interested - but I will give them their due, they do keep responding to my email requests for "how to adjust a specific aspect", which is at least civil.

Motorised 2 port valve; what has slowed it?

The likelihood of what you describe is so low on the probability scale that it becomes chasing after a situation that Samsung would be artificially creating by software timings coinciding with the notional resonance of an aging valve. And just as likely to occur on a new valve, which I've not...

Motorised 2 port valve; what has slowed it?

As detailed in the posts, this is not the case. The valve opens as fast as the new one and is easily actionable by finger. Cannot try as now swapped out I have done timings - which are the main basis for this query - as the OLD one is, if anything, faster than the new one.

Motorised 2 port valve; what has slowed it?

No, as I had no idea that could, in theory, change the situation for the better. Now the replacement is in, scope to investigate that has been removed... unless it happens again ! If it does, I will, but, it looked like the pump needed to be at full tilt to give sufficient flow, and since the...

Motorised 2 port valve; what has slowed it?

No, not settable. Again, the E991 went away with motorised valve replacement and the same Sika switch back in place. Alarm Hysteresis probably not even known to Samsung technical. Besides, "hysteresis" may be determined by firmware interrogation timing of the Sika switch.

Motorised 2 port valve; what has slowed it?

It wouldn't explain why the E991 trip condition went away with the motorised valve swap-out, as the same Sika switch was put back in.

Motorised 2 port valve; what has slowed it?

As in the thread, there was NO movement of indicator in the sight gauge when the DHW valve opened or closed

Motorised 2 port valve; what has slowed it?

I only found a single Google find for the full spec of the label attached to our Sika switch: VK325M0SAMSU17 That result was here: SIKA Flow switch type: VK325M0SAMSU17 - Set point 16.0 ± 1.5 l/min This was the ONLY Sika switch website listing that not only displayed the set point, it was...

Motorised 2 port valve; what has slowed it?

I agree No, it only appeared with DHW demand when the system opened the old 2-port valve - and was usually happening overnight. It was not consistently failing. Sometimes it would run for three days without fault, other times it would fail three times in succession when deliberately invoking...

Motorised 2 port valve; what has slowed it?

I accept all that you say. The end facts are indeed a good summary, and yes, I am curious. Looking at the Samsung manual, it describes E911 as : Flow S/W OFF error In case of flow S/W OFF in 30 sec during water pump signal is ON (Starting) In case of flow S/W OFF in 15 sec during water pump...

Motorised 2 port valve; what has slowed it?

Thanks for that, Harry - interesting that others find such components cause issues with their system. Seems to bolster the idea that they should be fitted with isolation valves so they can be replaced with minimal system disturbance. Another significant advantage is that it should consume no...

Motorised 2 port valve; what has slowed it?

Samsung Technical advise the controller only "knows" about the flow switch, and that it is via switch closure at the head end. That is borne out, both by that being the only "flow" connection to the system, and by us electrically confirming the switch closure when both out of the system and when...

Motorised 2 port valve; what has slowed it?

None of that "verbosity" was in the request for parts - just that it was a Flow switch, the part # on the wire tag, and that Samsung Technical had recommended them as potential suppliers. That so many had no idea about the product, or could be bothered to reply at all, was telling, I feel...
