Shower Issue (with Pump) - Only kicks in when turning temperature dial back and forth

We have got a shower which is connected to a shower pump in our airing cupboard (Salamander Pump 96-021 38). The shower has a rainforest head and then a normal head. Turning the left hand mixing dial turns the shower on/off and allows switching between the rainforest head and the normal head...

    Another tap fixing question....

Thanks for the response - I'll take a look at getting the cap. I can't see the isolation taps for the water. Other issue is that there's no screw for the riser so I can't get it out (or can't appear to work out how to get it out to replace the o-ring).

    Another tap fixing question....

Thanks that's helpful. I'll try with some ptfe tape - there isn't a screw at the back of the riser to take the riser out completely so I'm not sure how I'd replace the o-ring on the tap.

    Another tap fixing question....

Hi there, We have got an apparently unbranded (or at least I can't find a name for the brand) tap that is leaking. It's leaking on the base of the riser (where the black washer and white plastic piece) seems to be. I'm not quite sure how to fix it so thoughts welcome. There is space for an...

Trying to change washer in kitchen tap

Hi there, I need a bit of help - sorry, this is a simple question I think! The washer in my kitchen tap needs replacing (the spout rather than the taps themselves). I want to unscrew the central spout, but in order to do that need to turn the water off to the tap. First photo shows the tap /...

Ideas for how best to lock an iron gate

Thanks. Sorry, I've not explained it very well. When you press down on the handle, the whole of the handle lifts (i.e. the old padlock currently in place isn't doing anything). I'm not sure fitting a new padlock would work as the same issue would just occur?

Hi there, I'm after some ideas of how to lock an iron garden gate The lock doesn't work - previous owners had a padlock on it (which also wouldn't have worked) - and we dont have the key for that. Any ideas?

Fixing Wooden Garden Gate to a Garage Wall - Best Options

Hi there I’ve got a garden gate (wooden) that I’m putting in. There is a 2.4m fence post that I am using on one side (will use postcrete to fix it in). The other side of the gate will go against a garage wall. I’m trying to work out the best way of attaching it. Do I put in another 2.4m fence...

Help with a Scantronic 9450 Alarm

Great thank you. Will do. Silly question, but if I don't activate the alarm then am I right in saying it won't / shouldn't go off? It has been going off when it has been activated.....but not when it hasn't. Is that right?

Help with a Scantronic 9450 Alarm

Thanks all - much appreciated. I've ordered a Yuasa 12V 2.1Ah battery so will see if that improves things. I realise this is a very old alarm - we inherited it when we moved in a couple of years ago. I'm not sure about the battery in the external bellbox. The unit was serviced about 18 months...

Help with a Scantronic 9450 Alarm

Hi there, I could do with some assistance regarding an old Scantronic 9450 alarm that we have in our property (manual here: https://www.alarmsyork.co.uk/members_area/scantronic_alarms/9450.pdf). We had the alarm serviced about a year ago. The engineer said that it would require a new...
