Thanks for your reply. That’s a good idea. I am not sure exactly which type of textured wallpaper but was hoping not to be painting it. I was wondering if I can just go round the internal corner with one length and just butt up against the edge with the next length on the adjacent wall.

I hired a plumber to help. His immersion heater spanners also did not fit. He was quite confused. Got it out with a wrench in the end and put in a standard replacement from screw fix.

Well, I had to give up on this one. Got a plumber to help. He went straight for the box spanner which didn’t quite fit no matter how many times he tried. He had another immersion spanner which also didn’t quite fit. He did seem a bit suprised. His wrench wouldn’t quite open enough for 86mm but I...

That’s what I’ll have to try but seems like more risky in terms of damaging the tank.

Just my luck then. I’ve never removed one before. All ready to try to get it out and hoping I am not going to break the tank and none of the standard immersion spanners fit.

It’s just getting any of the spanners to fit onto the nut. Wires disconnected the spanners don’t fit. Too small by a couple of mm.

Some box spanner’s have a notch for the wire but i think you still have to disconnect.

I am not at the flat atm so can’t get a photo. The spanner’s that I’ve tried are definitely meant for immersion heater. The ones from screw fix etc. They aren’t a lot too small, may be just a couple of mm but enough so they won’t go onto the nut at all. They fit the replacement immersion element...

Have disconnected first. Some box spanners have a notch for the wire though.
