i am about to put a warm flat roof on a detached home office I am building. I need a bit of advice on how it all holds together.
On the wall plates I fix the joists. Then I nail the deck. That's easy.
On top of the deck goes insulation boards and OSB3 on top so I can finish with fibreglass...
Ahhhhh!!!
Just rang a merchant who told me they only sell 25mm battens, which with 18mm plywood would be about 12mm too low. He recommended something called packers which sounded like I should be able to get from elsewhere as he didn't stock them.
This gives me another problem... What...
Hi there. I have an extension to my 1930s house. The back is now open plan.
The old bit is pine floorboards and the new bit is screed set 55mm below, although the old floor is not horizontal and varies by about 18mm so the low bit is only 37mm above the screed.
I am having engineered oak...
I have bifold doors that currently drop 40cm to the ground so I thought I'd build a raised patio. Problem is that the waste pipe is buried where I'd like to dig the foundations.
So is it possible to build over the pipe? I can't see an alternative really.
