    hi folks last night i turned the offending trv completely off and this has stopped the noise(or at least last night and this am) so does this make me lean towards a defective trv??

    balancing the radiators is such a fiddle its just easier to bang the heat out on them all. Wife is always cold so stat to full for her I pay by dd on my gas bill @15£pm and am in credit for the last quarter,spose it will go debit now winter is here.

    glad to see the humour has returned.However I will visit B&Q tomorrow for a new TRV and see if it cures the fault if not then I will repost and test out the brains of the forum. thanx so far guys

    no its my other bedroom and yes the trv is fully open,unless i turn it 1/4 down to stop the noise.When the noise starts again i re-open it fully and it stops

    boiler and stat are in back bedroom stat set to full (30)cos wife is always cold
