Isolator switch wiring (2 cables from wall, each with blue, brown, earth. Both brown into live on switch, both blues into neutral on switch, both earths in end block)
I’ve just discovered that, though we do technically have building regs approval, having a timer on an extractor fan in the room with no window is a requirement of the building regs so might get the builders back to fix it after all. .
A close up of the fan wiring as I realised it wasn’t that clear before. Also thought it might be relevant to point out that it does have an isolator switch.
Thanks. In case the photo isn’t clear there are 3 cables coming out of the wall each with a blue, brown and earth. The 3 blue wires and 3 brown wires are all going to terminal blocks. 1 brown wire goes into one side of the switch, the other 2 go into the other side of the switch.
The light fitting only has brown, blue and earth too. There is no access to above it as it is a groundfloor extension with a flat roof (it replaced an old outhouse).
We recently had an extension built but unfortunately the builders were a nightmare when it came to finishing and were doing such a shoddy job in the end we told them to leave and have been clearing up the chaos since.
