Indesit IWDE7125 Fault Code 15

I have had a look to see what this fault code is and it seems it is to do with the drying heater relay but different machines have a different meaning for this fault code. Can anyone confirm that the code 15 is definitely a dryer heating relay issue for my make of washer dryer.

Check the dryer heater for continuity.

The fault occurs on any cycle now. Originally the wife said that it has only happened on the drying cycle but I have put it on the drain cycle which is only a couple of minutes and it clicks to check the door lock then makes a "groaning noise" which does not sound normal then makes another clicking noise and the F15 comes on the display with all the lights. The error code also comes on pretty much straight away when the machine is now put on a wash cycle.If the machine was on a wash cycle I assume that the dryer heater would not be the cause is that true?

I think this maybe too involved one that I cannot repair myself. I have seen other threads saying about a capacitor at C17 which I was hoping maybe the cause of my fault but when I took my PCB off it looks a lot different. The code on my PCB is 21501008403.

Nope. C17 cap is not the fault. The machine does a check of all components on start up. You need to check the top heater. Either open curcuit heater or wire broken off it. Just remove the lid and you will see.

Rocks1 thanks for that I have checked the dryer element today and no reading with the meter so looks like it has gone faulty. Looks OK on the outside but obviously gone.

When I took the whole dryer section off with the fan the plastic bit it sits on was full off fluff I have cleared out as best as possible but is there a way of taking this off as there is a nut lower down at the back of the drum housing but it just turns.

That's the condenser. Easy way to clean it is to remove the inlet hose and place it in the big hole and turn water on full. Make sure door is shut otherwise you will get wet feet. Just turn water on for 2 mins max to clear the fluff then put on pump out

Did pour a couple of pints of water but will give it a bit of pressure.

The heating element lasted about 6 weeks before going faulty again. I have received a replacement and this has been fitted but I now get the odd error code F13 which I believe is a sensor error. Am I correct in this assumption. As the element has gone a couple of times in quick succession is their any thing else that could cause this to go fault. Maybe need to look at buying a new one if the problems continue.

Are you buying a genuine part or a copy. Copy parts don't last long as long as the condenser is clear and has good air flow it should be ok.

It states that it is a genuine part so maybe just one of those things. The condenser is clear as I cleaned all the fluff out when it went faulty first time round.

Hi

I have got a code F15 again and the heating element seems to have gone again. Just want to know can I take the two spade terminals off the heating element and link them together so at least the machine can be used for washing still until I can order myself a new machine. Many thanks Mark

I don't know wether or not the machine will work after disconnecting the heater. As rocks1 says it checks the components. BUT DO NOT SHORT OUT THE WIRES. Just disconnect them & insulate the terminals.
