I was reading the Metro newspaper on the train in this morning and one of the biggest reasons many people go for when choosing a holiday destination nowdays is not sunshine, culture or even cheap beer. It’s something called 'instagramability' and the average 30 year old takes 2500 photos when on holiday and if each one takes 10 seconds, they reckon they spend 7 hours of their holiday taking pictures to put online to show others what a fabulous life they have.

So, according to your interpretation of the article in the Metro newspaper, most folks holiday destination of choice is chosen by instagram.

Do you actually understand what has just happened?
 
Don’t you start! I meant a physical newspaper. Made of real paper with printed inky words on it.

Above statement suggests people go on holiday to places where they can take umpteen selfies............I read that too...Unless I am missing subliminal messages or being thick......why are you all getting your knickers in a twist

Because it simply isn't true. It's a made up article.

Do you know anyone who chose their holiday destination for this reason???

People who read such articles do not necessarilly have to believe what they read or even act upon it, it will enter the subconscious brain & become part of their 'knowledge base'.

Daft people will even go onto quoting the article, like Motman !

Plenty of miserable old gits though, put it this way I'm no spring chicken, but when I go there (very cheap beer) the average age drops by 10 years.

No....but that is irrelavent...When one walks the streets on holiday and notice selfie sticks and ppl taking selfies everywhere...noticed it in Venice the other day,seems fair enough...It is not such a wacko mental concept

Jeez.People go to places for loads of reasons..sunshine.wildlife .sport.booz.getting laid...partying.cultural...etc etc....So in this age of selfie obsession it seems perfectly logical to me that is a factor in destination choice.Many people put pics of there meals,kids,pets,clothes,hair nails makeup every day,date online,,,etc why is it not perfectly reasonable to pick hols to take pics.? More unusual for me is how bent out of shape about the theory you are...as if Motman threatened to come round and fill you in.
