Zion and the Art of Armageddon

There are but by the look of it maybe a few smaller ones and things not great inside. A UK plastic surgeon went to work in one recently.
"Tents" in corridors to try and provide some isolation. Smelly and too many people. Hygiene a joke - not really possible.

Other reports have mentioned a large one running at 300%, 3 time what they are set up to handle. That one is now a total mess.

You're right, some are still operating. Four operating in some degree, one little more than a first aid post. Down from 34.

It seems that every news out let us banging on about an imminent attack from the mad mullahs in tehran on Isreal

may as well have a confrontation with the fruit cakes now rather than. Later (y)

If trump was president he would be dusting off the nuclear launch code lap top ;)

The only reason there is any direct activity from Iran is because Israel decided to level an embassy.

I vote for later

Yep, Israel as usual violated international law...

They complain about an attack on their soil, but do it time and time again themselves...

The embassy attack was by international law a direct attack on Iran!

Sounds like the UK should donate those rather expensive Nightingale hospitals...

Never used and never needed!

The attack on the Iranian embassy in Damascus wasn't a breach of international law. Embassies are protected from violations by the host country,
( 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and the 1963 Convention on Consular Relations.) As Israel wasn't the 'host' state it was acting as a third country.
Israel is currently being attacked on three fronts by Iran, if you think retaliation is a breach of international law, you need to:
a. give yer head a shake.
b. read a bit of international law on the subject.

It's an outright clear act of war. You do get why that's an escalation I take it?

It's also way outside the norm. Even when countries are at war, which again Iran and Israel are formally at peace, the embassies in third countries are not destroyed with missile strikes as the opening blow as some sort of cack handed pearl harbour.

Israel want Iran to respond to get the US public back on side which opens up the options on continuing the ethnic cleansing.

Iran has been at war with Israel for years, Iran are sworn to 'cleanse' the world of Jews.

Iran hates Israel, it’s been fuelling Hamas terrorism for years

It’s why people like Jeremy Corbyn like Iran ( and because it used to have a socialist party)

US public back on side
At March 20 55% were against Israel's action. 36% approve. Recent googles with a 1 week time limit suggest a new low now Iran has been mention.

Theories all you like but until something happens all sorts are possible even no action. There is a feeling that Benjamin would love to drag the US into a war with Iran as he's that sort of bloke. Boots though, Not something the US is fond of. More missiles and bombs etc. Looks like Ukraine may get it's money soon. Even more money - they are not a bottomless pit really.

I wouldn't be surprised if Iran lobbed something into Hurva Square.

Benjy would wail, but how many would quietly think "serves you fkin right, mate".

There would then be something bad so I hope Biden's pronouncements are enough to stop it happening.

They should hand those out to the people of Gaza, who could make shelters out of them and burn them for heat when it gets cold.

“This is a struggle between the children of light and the children of darkness, between humanity and the law of the jungle,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a speech last October, days into the Israel-Hamas war. His mention of “the jungle” recalls a popular Israeli expression, attributed to former Prime Minister Ehud Barak three decades ago, that Israel is “a villa in the jungle.” The jungle, in this case, is the Arab world, and the Palestinians in it are the “beasts”...

...But the idea goes back even further, to the early Zionist thinkers. Theodor Herzl, the Austro-Hungarian father of modern Zionism, wanted to establish a state where Jews could be safe from the violent antisemitism they’d long faced in Europe. He painted a vision of a Jewish state in Palestine that would grant civil rights to the Arabs who remained there. He argued that by bringing Western civilization to the region, Jews would be benefiting the local Arabs economically and culturally — and that the Jewish state would “constitute part of the wall of defense against Asia; we would serve as an outpost of civilization against barbarism.”

But from the early days of the state, there was a group that didn’t buy the justification: Jews with roots in the Arab and Muslim world.

Called Mizrahim in Israel, these Jews today make up the largest ethnic group in the country. They mostly immigrated to Israel after 1948, and for much of the country’s history, they’ve been victims of the same kind of anti-Arab ideology that is wielded against the Palestinians. For centuries, Mizrahi Jews had enjoyed high status in their countries of origin in the Middle East and North Africa, which ranged from Iraq to Egypt to Morocco. But when they landed in Israel, they found that the new state was ruled by European Jews, called Ashkenazim, who overwhelmingly viewed them as primitive and culturally backward.

This movement offers a counterpoint to the “villa in the jungle” view of Israel — an alternative vision for how Jews and Palestinians can live together on the land. It also offers a more nuanced way to think about contemporary debates on the meaning of indigeneity, nationhood, and colonialism in Israel-Palestine. The vision of Mizrahi-Palestinian solidarity seems even more important in light of what has actually happened in more recent decades: Mizrahim drastically moved to the political right, and solidarity with Palestinians became Israel’s road not taken. Understanding that swerve is key to understanding what went wrong in Israel’s history that made it unable to imagine coexistence with an Arab people. And it may be key to building a better future for all.
