Hi everyone. We have had a damp patch that always has appeared after doing a bit of DIY on it and repainting it , it forms in a shape from floor up to just about a quarter of the way. We finally decided to get this builder round as he would treat the damp with a special compound and inject it. So far they’ve hacked off the plaster exposing the porous bare brick. And now have totally cemented it all over but not injected it yet. They’re injecting it today with a dpc cream then putting plasterboard on top then skimming. Everything I’ve read not to do seems to be happening. Is the above bad or am I unduly worrying about their work. ?? Any advice please as feeling so worried !

Is it rising damp, or was the chimney closed off?

Hi, the chimney stack was flaunched and now 2 chimneys with cowls reinstated. Had been closed of for 20 years. Builder said dpc had been damaged I think. Looked like salts to me having researched. But he didn’t put any salt neutraliser into render
