ICE told to get the eff out

It is common practice amongst experienced concealed carriers. So is carrying a spare magazine. Nothing the victim did was unusual. The safety probably got knocked by the agent yanking it out of the victim's waistband/holster.

He has gone to a protest against ICE agents with a loaded gun and two full magazines and wasn't expecting trouble. The only reason you would load the weapon is to be able to fire it quickly, Why would he feel the need to load the chamber and then start fighting with the agents?

Because he wasn't expecting to fight with the agents. He was just following standard practice for many experience concealed carriers. Many think it is pointless having a gun unless it is hot, because you might need to react instantly. An experienced carrier takes his gun everywhere. 'Pants on, gun on' as the old expression goes. Yesterday would have been no different.

so is negligent discharge.

do we know it was holstered ? If it was tucked in the waistband, then having it loaded is beyond daft.

He only needed to cock it to load it, what was he expecting to do by cocking the gun?

It becomes second nature. He didn't give it a second's thought.
Going out to a demonstration with a loaded gun, great idea. An even better idea would to have left it at home as a better security measure.

Video evidence is seemingly showing the spare clip on the floor before it all kicked off. It is possible that "IF" the victim really did reach for his gun in the melee then all he did was grab & misplace this clip. The gun was definitely holstered, it would have to be given the melee.

I have absolutely no idea what the gun etiquett or laws are in the area, but I have NEVER known anyone to casually carry a gun that is in an immediate condition of firing unless a situation has already escalated & they have prepared it.

Again, this one is going to be hard to spin.

It's a way of life. And there are lots of experienced concealed carriers who keep one in the pipe. It's not worth the risk if you need to defend yourself in a split second. Many have ended up dead as a result of wasting time.

Yes I am sure AI tells you that.

Do you personally know any?

I think not, because guns are very dangerous things & anyone with an ounce of sense has an appreciation of this.
