Ptfe on 1/2” thread

my fitting for a shower hose outlet has a 1/2” threaded rod that needs ptfe tape on it. How many turns of ptfe should I put?

Shower hoses are normally female both ends and come with their own washers.You should not need tape.

You could always double up on the washers.
