Cleaning dried off zinser from carpet

Had a little mishap & spilt zinser BIN on carpet.

Is there a good way of removing it without ruining the carpet even more. Many thanks

I dont know about zinser but I cleaned a large gloss paint spill off a carpet with WD40 with no ill effects.

To remove it, you need to dissolve the shellac rather than use standard paint strippers. The most effective method is applying methylated spirits (also known as denatured alcohol), followed by gentle scraping or wiping. According to google.

Household ammonia would be my go to. Unlike alcohol it breaks down the shellac. Leave for while and then rinse with water. When dry you should just have white dust in the carpet. BTW, I am assuming that you have a carpet that is happy to come into contact with small amounts of water.

Kool. And whenever using brushes with ammonia, dip it in the ammonia and then rinse the brush. It will not stain the ceramic basin/sink. I normally pour some into a jar so that I can use it again later. If the brush has gone hard, you may need to leave in the ammonia overnight. The ammonia will evaporate off and in the container, you will have water with white dust in the bottom. You safely pour that down the sink. Be warned that ammonia is quite smelly, but the smell in the carpet will soon dissipate as the ammonia evaporates off. Sensitivity to the small varies from person to person. I did recently purchase some double strength ammonia. To be honest, I need to hold my breath when using it.
