Many thanks for the quick reply. My relay has been fitted under the boiler......should not have been I think! I'll move it and if it doesn't work, I'm going for a wired in stat. I presume you did the same and it's ok now?

It never got resolved. 3 different engineers came and none of them were able to fix it. They ended up saying this is just the way it is and that if you want an accurate one you need a wired therm.
