  • Vaillant ecotec pro 28. 6 years old, this fault started off being intermittent but is no longer resolving by resetting.
I did some checking online (https://vaillantgroup.intelliresponse.com/) and found the information, Gas valve- 22vdc Red to Blue on the X20 pin connector (pins 18 and 9). Dropping to 16 vdc.
    What next

The potential difference between the pins is measuring at around 14.56 vdc when the boiler tries to ignite.
    1. Should the voltage hold at 16vdc to hold the gas valve open?
    2. Is the PCB at fault for not maintaining the voltage?
    3. What is supposed to happen at these pins?

Spoke to another Gas safe person while he was on another job and he said it was unlikely to be the gas valve and more likely to be the PCB.
    4. What do I look for to find out if the PCB is at fault?

If I can determine the PCB is at fault then I have a couple of options
    A - to purchase a new PCB
B - Or order a refurbed one which comes with a 12 month warranty.
