Neighbour getting smells from our extractor fan?

Is has been resolved as there are a couple of options including a flue outside. So this is mo longer an issue. The issue is there's a wall socket right where a cooker hood chimney would be which is clearly the reason the previous owner removed various parts which has caused the issue with the...

Neighbour getting smells from our extractor fan?

I think I know why they removed part 13, 13f and 16 when fitting it. The wall socket is in the way, so they just didnt install those essential parts and in order to fit it. and to fit part 17 ie the cover they put a hole in the false kitchen ceiling which then allowed the fumes to travel...

Neighbour getting smells from our extractor fan?

Now looking at the diagram on the manual and the actual pictures. It is missing part 13, the long tunnel thing that's suppose to go up the fan chimney and missing 13f and 16 and also part 17 is on upside down!!!! It's off at the moment but that's the way it was fitted. Either installed totally...

Neighbour getting smells from our extractor fan?

What I have done to pacify the neighbour and hopefully stop the smells into his bedroom I've covered the top of the largest circle part at the top in this picture also where it says 13 on the diagram. Is this OK do you think and won't cause any serious issues or dangerous?

Neighbour getting smells from our extractor fan?

I spoke to an electrician and said it's not possible to vent an extractor fan, in fact let me quote him. "To get pipe out will be a problem, your boiler flue must be min 300 away from any openings to the building inc extractor openings" He said he can fit a plume like in this photo but I'm mot...

Neighbours tree blocking most sun light to house and garden

So there maybe regulations which state that the tree can not be above a certain height. I did speak to him about it a few weeks ago and he said he looked into getting it cut or taken down but the council legislation didn't allow him.too. Which seems strange.

Neighbours tree blocking most sun light to house and garden

Hi all Our neighbours tree blocks a ood 60 or 70% on average of our sun light to back garden and house. For a few hours even 90 to 100% like the photo. The garden would be mostly sunny if not for the tree. Is there anything we can do about it? Ie with council ect.

Neighbour getting smells from our extractor fan?

No the party wall is the other end of the kitchen. The wall the extractor fan is on is our bathroom wall. There is a good 3 inch gap all around between the silver ceiling and the old white ceiling above it. Please se photo. Is there any way of maybe ducking it or sealing it so the smells...

Neighbour getting smells from our extractor fan?

My neighbour took me into his upstairs bedroom and I did smell our downstairs cooking smells. I've taken some more pictures to show here. I would appreciate some advice on hiw it's fitted and if anything looks wrong. For some reason it won't upload the extractor fan photos so here's a link...

Neighbour getting smells from our extractor fan?

As its a recirculating extractor fan isn't it the case that its enclosed so it's not possible to attach a pipe to it anyway. I would have to replace with a extraction fan if I want to have the fumes go outside and not recirculate inside the fan. How can the fumes be leaving the extractor fan as...

Neighbour getting smells from our extractor fan?

Thanks. So guess up to me to have to get someone in a electrician or a DIY man? And have them get a pipe connected to the top of it and drill a hole in the wall to allow the pipe to go outside for the cooking smells to come out. So that's going to cost me probably £200 or so. Is it something I...

Hi all Hoping for some advice. Our next door neighbour, terraced house was saying he's getting all the smells from our extractor fan when we cook in his upstairs bedroom. Even though our extractor fan is at the opposite end of the kitchen to our joining house walls. He let me smell in his...

    Tile has come loose

Thanks. Spoke to two different roofers locally. One said "It just slots back in you don't glue them. It has bits on the back of the tile" The other said "Just put back in, could nail it but would mean loosening the tile above. I could glue it with silicone but wouldn't be necessary, the other...

    Whos responsible for this fence?

Yes seems like the posts maybe on his side but the fence runs along the boundary line from what you said and based on the deeds picture as there's no "T" on the deeds indicating it is shared ownership ie A party fence.. I think.

    Whos responsible for this fence?

Hi all, Just wondering how we know who's responsible for the repair of our fence that's blown over today in the storm? It's Scotland. I heard it depends on the "T" but can't find a "T" on the deeds and also no mention of a fence on the deeds. It's the fence on the right side on the picture...
