    Cost of re-laying laminate floor

Hi - I am hoping someone can help. We have just had our kitchen installed with new engineered wood flooring throughout, going through to dining area - about 10m2 in total. The original floor in the kitchen was concrete and in the dining area was parquet wood which was at a slightly higher...

Max temp too low - new thermostatic shower mixer valve

That's really kind Agile, thanks. well plumber-builder put something on the cold feed to the bathroom. It hasn't made a difference. It has an adjustor on it to restrict the flow which husband has fiddled around with and has made no difference whatsoever. :x I have come to the conclusion...

Max temp too low - new thermostatic shower mixer valve

Thanks Agile. He refuses to do anything to the valve or do any investigations himself - even if they are simple as you say - I think it is a pride thing. But what does the fact that it gets hot for a split second before going back down to lukewarm mean? I may try and adjust the...

Max temp too low - new thermostatic shower mixer valve

Hi! I turned the basin cold tap on, flushed the toilet while the shower was on at max and it did get hotter - so the conclusion is that we need a pressure reducing valve on the cold feed. Does anyone know if this will mean the shower pressure/flow will be weaker? Also inclined to just get...

Max temp too low - new thermostatic shower mixer valve

I'm hoping it is the pressure in which case he will accept he needs To do something. Will check when I get home. Presumably as it gets hot for a split second when I put it up to the max means it has the ability to get hot (therefore the spindle is in the right position) it's just something in...

Max temp too low - new thermostatic shower mixer valve

Yes he used a CORGI registered/or whatever the equivalent is called now for the boiler but I think he installed the shower and bathroom. We chose him because he seemed reliable, knowledgeable and trustworthy not because he was cheap (he isn't)......now we have got to the end of the work he has...

Max temp too low - new thermostatic shower mixer valve

Hi - mine doesn't have a release button. I have called the manufacturer and they have said it could be either the fact that the pressure is unbalanced so solved with a pressure reducing vavle to the cold feed; or the cartridge needs recalibrating. I am going to go back tonight and check...

Max temp too low - new thermostatic shower mixer valve

Thank you. Yes the boiler does deliver very hot water to the taps so musn't be a problem with the boiler. Unfortunately there is no convincing our builder- plumber that it is anything other than the manufacturer's settings and he won't investigate it and I just want to see the back of him...

Max temp too low - new thermostatic shower mixer valve

Thanks Charnwood. Spoke to plumber suggesting below, and he is convinced it is the manufacturer's setting to prevent scalding and refuses to make any adjustments. Is this fair? Incidentally I tested the temperature this moring and it is between 39.5 and 40C - am I just being fussy?! :?

Max temp too low - new thermostatic shower mixer valve

Hi, I hope someone can help so I can be armed with a bit of knowledge before trying to sort this out with my builder/plumber. We have recently had new central heating (combi boiler) and a new shower installed with a concealed thermostatic mixer valve. All the taps in the house can be...
