    New build hot water cylinder

Interesting, ok. But when you say "put a radiator in there" I get that you could put a water based one in for what you said, but with an electric one, what power wires would it need to run off of? Would it be expensive? It's reassuring to see you think the pipe work is neat and done well.

    New build hot water cylinder

Thanks for taking the time to post. No the plans were direct from the housing association. I am due to take a look at the property this week so will keep an eye out for the vessel you mention. My only concern with the airing cupboard is there is no electric heater - would be really handy to...

    Wiring an electric mirror

I have not yet picked one, would it be better to get one with one? had been thinking of getting something like this, just as an example...

    Wiring an electric mirror

Hi, I have a new build house and I would like to get a mirror put up on the wall. The bathroom doesn't have a window so it is quite dark. I am looking at getting a mirror with built in lights, but obviously, it will need wiring in. There is a shaver point quite close to the area for the mirror...

Could that be added to the system I have?

    New build hot water cylinder

I see. There is one good point to this...once the warranty runs out, I can put a nest in and replace those thermostats! :D

    New build hot water cylinder

I will ask about cylinder but someone did say on here, it may be because it is an affordable house. Glad a nest would work, I think I will leave it until the warranties expire as a couple of people have warned on here that changing the thermostats would invalidate any warranty I get. Seems...

    Consumer unit has 'shower' breaker?

That is EXACTLY what my brother said to me yesterday! I won't mention where this development is for obvious reasons!

    New build hot water cylinder

Thanks, will do. This will be an shared ownership property, so I will be purchasing the full 75% with a view to purchasing the remaining 25% within two years. Will have a listen tomorrow. What do you mean by sound transfer between the rooms? If I can hear clearly any noise when I am in one...

    Consumer unit has 'shower' breaker?

No no, there is a boiler. I took a look yesterday. Literally, all lights left on, 5 in the evening, doors shut but unlocked with keys still in them, all windows open. No body on site. Half the street is now sold and people occupying the houses, otherside is my house and others in similar state...

    New build hot water cylinder

True, I suppose it isn't the end of the world, and someone did comment here on how well the pipe work had been done, so hopefully it is a good job. If you have time to ask your neighbour, that would be very much appreciated. This is the first purchase I have ever made, so I am very new to this!

True, but our non-refundable deposit is now paid, and it is ours subject to our mortgage going through etc.

    Consumer unit has 'shower' breaker?

Ok thanks for the clarification, doesn't sound good. My brother works in the building trade (for a small builder) and is convinced they are house bashing here. They have trades people coming in and out at all hours, leaving doors unlocked in the street with keys in the lock and no one about...

    New build hot water cylinder

Yes that is the only mention I have in the paperwork, but it was one of the main reasons we went for it as we actually quite like the cylinders. I know they are more expensive in terms of heating water that is not always used, but if your boiler malfunctions, at least you have the cylinder...

    New build hot water cylinder

Yes they sure do. See below, I have cropped the area in question and also cropped some other relevant details which were at the sides of the plans. You will see there mention of a cylinder thermostat. You can't have one of those without a cylinder. Note that the cylinder is pictured right...

    Consumer unit has 'shower' breaker?

Will certainly add it to snagging, do you think it is dangerous to be left how it is? Worried that developer is maybe house bashing to get these done as they are over date on completion. Would be far more happy to wait and get a proper job than have them rushing. Also, should there not be a...

    New build hot water cylinder

Ok, makes sense. Hopefully, they will at least fit one of those electric radiators in this cupboard as was really hoping we would get a proper airing cupboard. The reason I think the boiler is cheaper is because this is about the third new build I have viewed with a view to seriously buying...
