New thermostat learning shenanigans? Honeywell T3R

Thank you! That must be it, it does do short burst, which I mentioned in my other post when installed the new stat as I was a bit baffled because with the old stat it wasn't doing that. When it gets to 20deg it seems to ease off a bit, perhaps it doing 18.5 then. I agree with your Auntie, it's...

New thermostat learning shenanigans? Honeywell T3R

Same thing this morning, temp set to 20, stays at 17.5. Pump it up to 21 and it actually goes to 21. So why does it stay at 17.5, what's the difference? And why 17.5? Boiler is set to 70 and the stat is in the livingroom. Thermo dynamics and physics is hard!

New thermostat learning shenanigans? Honeywell T3R

About two months ago I replaced old hysteresis type thermostat with T3R, which obviously is not smart but as I understand it, it can take two weeks or so for the stat to settle down (it learns something?) I've programmed certain temps for certain times of day, evening one is an interesting one...

    Frost Stat Queries

I recently rewired my frost and pipe stats in my cold garage, and tested them by switching off the boiler so the pipes in the garage got cold, then turned the frost stat dial and had the pipe stat set to 20-30degrees IIRC. There was a long lag, pipes got really toasty before the pipe stat...

WB max CH output and anti cycling settings

I've changed the settings, anti fast cycle from 5 to 10 mins (6 times an hour) and anti fast cycle flow temp from -6 to -10. Interestingly, Honeywell T3R thermostat parameters has the following: cycle rate : 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 12 default is set to 6 Minimum on time: 1,2,3,4,5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30...

WB max CH output and anti cycling settings

Now that I have the stats and wiring sorted, I started learning a bit about max output and cycling. I have a WB Greenstar 30i erp bought in 2017. Last winter I had flow temp at 72, I have tried 60 to 65 but 11 smallish radiators in a 3 bed bungalow don't get to temp during the 3-4 hour heating...

Frost and pipe stats on WB combiboiler - JW's wiring diagram

I bet that's what he means. As an observation, first time being under the combi boiler bonnet, everything is very cramped and tight, using 5-core would help, and also would need some planning ahead on the length of wires for each flex. Then there are the grommets just in front of the connector...

Frost and pipe stats on WB combiboiler - JW's wiring diagram

Thank you very much, I'm actually the nutter who emailed you twice, got it all wrong in my emails but then got it right in the end. Just checking that I'm understanding you correctly, I have L live going to honeywell T3R's L then a link from L to A and switch live coming back from B to boiler's...

Frost and pipe stats on WB combiboiler - JW's wiring diagram

Hi again, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Worcester Bosch manual says FS 230v out frost stat out FR 230v in frost stat in and I found a smaller print saying the live supply is terminal FS the switch live is terminal FR And this on JW's website

Frost and pipe stats on WB combiboiler - JW's wiring diagram

Hi, I am a bit baffled, I wired frost and pipe stats to WB combi, exactly as per John Wards diagram, I wonder if I'm missing something or understand the diagram wrong. Diagram is found here I have the same thermostats and connected to earth wires too. FR brown wire FS blue wire FR goes to...

Wiring Honeywell T3R thermostat to WB greenstar30i combi

I believe I figured it out. Boiler L out to first L Neutral out to neutral Earth to earth Link from L to A LR CH/radiator piccy to B (switch live) Earth to earth on this 2-core also Earth terminals getting crowded, there's three on the boiler side. NOT to get rid of white link wire in the...

Wiring Honeywell T3R thermostat to WB greenstar30i combi

Found out that the second L is the same as the first one, there for the convenience of linking L to A.

Wiring Honeywell T3R thermostat to WB greenstar30i combi

Hi, I am replacing old Danfoss programmer and Honeywell relay with Honeywell Home T3R thermostat. Attached photos show the new thermostat and the current boiler layout. Power supply to boiler seems like an easy one, but I'm a bit hazy on the connections to the thermostat. 230V out L to A and a...
