    Radiator Sludge

That’s the actual radiator. Most (4 in total) of the others are the same, lock shield bottom left , TRV top right. One has it diagonally swapped, lock shield bottom right , TRV top left. That’s the one in kitchen, physically closes to boiler, also doesn’t work good at all One has both at...

    Radiator Sludge

Can you be more specific on what you mean by “wrong”. All, or almost all, are connected the same way ?

    Radiator Sludge

That thermal foto was taken when TRV on one radiator, that one, was the only one open. Every other radiator was stone cold.

    Radiator Sludge

Lock shield is bottom left. TRV is top right. That’s been same for 20 years.

    Radiator Sludge

Old rectangular style. Above is thermal photo I took last night. I’ll post normal pic when back at home. Isolate is not meant in any detailed / technical sense, meant more that one radiator is with “fully open TRV” and the rest are off and checked to be so. I also tried turning lock shield on...

    Radiator Sludge

I guess both can be true at same time, it’s a big issue but also abused a bit.

    Radiator Sludge

Just looking at other threads, you get so many different views. Someone with similar symptoms as mine got this: “Claiming sludge in a customers radiator and quoting for powerflushing is the biggest racket going on in the heating industry (in fact powerflushing could do more harm than good).”...

    Radiator Sludge

There’s been a lot of responses, thanks everyone, so I’ll try answer as much as I can. The Baxi boiler replaced an older combi boiler, which was installed ca: 2000-2005. The radiators were installed at same time. It was done by some free government program at that time for my elderly parents...

    Radiator Sludge

The boiler installation was a really upsetting experience. You can call that touchy if you want? I didn't like a) being physically threatened and b) having to waste a lot of my time to get it sorted via the industry regulator, which also wasn't easy. I had to postpone my new kitten...

    Radiator Sludge

Thanks for the answer. 2 different matters, though of course same property. The whole Gas Safe aspect was to do with the Baxi boiler installation ca: 2 years ago, which I included to give some context/background. The sludge issue, or rather the "some radiators dont get very hot at all, very...

    Radiator Sludge

So, I like to be thorough and explain the history, Like I did when starting this thread. I dont know what aspects are important. I am IT professional and "X does not work" is the most common, and pretty useless, problem report. I get it that he maybe thought "dont want this guy as a customer"...

    Radiator Sludge

Hi I have an old, second floor apartment with very old piping under pretty new flooring. I previously posted here about an issue with a Volkera boiler. This has since been replaced by a Baxi boiler, which has been serviced and AFAIK is working fine. The apartment is not used much in winter...

Volkera Compact - Green flashing light

Thanks for answers. In this case I slept somewhere else cos it was cold. When I came back boiler / CH were working properly. Both timer and thermostat now had solid green lights , as did boiler. I dunno, likely user error. Maybe lack of patience. Thanks for suggestions/comments

Volkera Compact - Green flashing light

Hi i have circa 15 year old Volkera Compact 24 boiler, seems almost sane as: https://library.plumbase.co.uk/flipbooks/RE/vokcom24_20480_t/mobile/index.html it is in my kitchen, next to it external 24hr timer and power switch, with thermostat control in hall. i was changing the on/off hours...
