    Ford Mondeo

I'm not certain but I think the 2.2 uses a different gearbox, so check that out first. If that is the case then it would mean replacing both the engine and the gearbox, other than that there shouldn't be any real difference as the body shell and running gear is the same.

And what do you think the reason for hose-pipe bans is ? PVC Shortage ?

    2003 Vauxhall corsa 1.2 petrol won't go above 30mph

This problem is usually the Coil Pack, the EGR Valve (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) especially on the Twinport engines, the ECT Sensor (Engine Coolant Temperature) or the MAF Sensors (Mass Air Flow). Unfortunately all 4 of these can throw up similar fault codes and usually means having to...

Vauxhall Astra 1.3 CDTi ecoFLEX 16v Exclusiv

The fuel sender unit and fuel filter are a single sealed unit attached to the fuel tank and is quite an expensive unit and I'm sure the tank requires removal to gain access to it.

    Diagnostics with a difference!

From about the 2000 model year most Vauxhall's Engine Management System's faults can be accessed by using the "Pedal Method" which is done by pressing the accelerator pedal and brake pedal to the floor and then turning the ignition key to the "On" position (not as far as turning the engine over)...

    Tidal energy on its way.

Something that really bugs me is the Wind Turbines scattered all over the Country spoiling country and coastal views, when it has been proven that they are not financially viable. As for those turbine built at sea....WHY ? We are a small country surrounded by sea and therefore surrounded by...

We Need These Signs On Our Motorways!

We had a decent Rail System, road transport was and still is cheaper and that is why Beeching decimated what was a decent Rail System, just as the railways killed off the Canal System.

We Need These Signs On Our Motorways!

When the lorries are all gone you will not be left with any cars either or people for that matter. Where and how are you going to supply all the manufacturers that produce the cars and other consumer goods ? Where and how are you going to get the food and drink that you require to sustain life...

We Need These Signs On Our Motorways!

Absolutely Correct JBR Unfortunately "Common Sense" is probably the rarest commodity in the World today !! I have also found the lane hoggers also tend to be the Mobile Phone Users as well, so not much chance of them ever changing their selfish ways. They always argue about the "speeders" and...

We Need These Signs On Our Motorways!

Because it is the Law, the middle and outside lanes are overtaking lanes. You are supposed to drive on the inside lane unless you are overtaking, having done so you should pull back into the inside lane when safe to do so. Believing that someone who passes you is speeding and so breaking the...

    Help identifying this bolt?

There appears to be several slightly different types of these fixings, the ones used on Fiat, Lancia and Alfa Romeo are usually Ribe Bolts, on German cars such as VW and Audi use a type called Polydrive and some of the other manufacturers use another slightly different type called Torx.

    Pan for toilet habits

The flat base pan used to be standard fitment in the old tenement flats in Glasgow and they used to have a large square wooden seat. Having moved to England as a youngster, it was a pleasure to visit relatives back in Glasgow and be able to sit on the wooden seat and hold on to the corners (had...

    Dyson DC07 Motor Filter

Good advice from Burnerman, also a good idea to check all the pipes/tubes for blockages. The majority just clip on and off and are often neglected as people forget that a hover also needs to be cleaned.

Vauxhall Astra Rear Windscreen Washer Jet

Don't know if you have fixed your problem or not, but the problem is unlikely to be the rear washer nozzle. The problem will be the washer pump, the pump is for both the front and rear washers and it runs forward for the front washer and in reverse for the rear washer and they tend to clog up...
