Yes, I turn the clock manually and the light clicks on. No sound like the kettling that happens when the boost is on.

So I should cancel the electrician and buy the Electronic 7 controller and whack that on? When it is said it just plugs in, I am a ****** when it comes to DIY! How can I prevent electrocuting and killing myself? I want to enjoy a hot shower after all this..

When the boost is on the boiler makes a distinct kettling sound When the off peak is on, there is no sound at all.

Cancel the electrician? What type do I buy?

So, the economy 7 controller should work properly (ie heat the water up when the light comes on) without an economy 7 meter?

Not quite. The one Horstmann did before that one. It is called Horstmann Quartz Economy 7. Same concept.

ok, thank you. I am baffled by it all.

Now, I am confused. The electrician is coming at 11am tomorrow. Do i ask him to check the relay between controller and boiler? Do I need to get the off peak activated? Is the economy 7 controller (but lack of economy 7 meter) the problem with no getting hot water after off peak...

What do you mean, Matt? I don't need the controller? I have to use the boost all the time pretty much. What should I do here?

Almost - its predecessor it seems. Horstmann Quartz Economy 7 (Sorry, I can't post an image!) [/img]

Yep, I have checked with the supplier twice - definitely a standard meter and standard tariff. It is not even digital. Just the old style thing. How would that be a problem? Is it not just a case of if the light is on the boiler should be heating water up, regardless of tariff/meter? The...

Genius required aspa re: Pulsacoil 2000 ongoing problem.

That is the thing - we have an Economy 7 timer thing but out meter is a standard meter so we don't benefit from cheaper electricity OR decent hot water it seems!! I am praying it is the timer/off peak supply that is not working and I can replace the box on the wall and it will be sorted...

Ok, I can turn the timer to 'think' it is 2am so that it turns on to off peak and the light will come on.. then he can test if it is doing anything?

Ok, I will ask him to do that. Is there anything else that he should do/check? the power coming out of the timer when off peak light is on?

Genius required aspa re: Pulsacoil 2000 ongoing problem.

No, I don't have the expertise for that! Wish I did. Just want the thing sorting! I will ask the electrician tomorrow to check all the things you said. Oh, yes - hot water after boost. Not sure if water the day after the off peak is a result of the off peak or the remains of the...

Ok, I will ask the guy tomorrow to see if he can do that. As for the engineers - both from companies specialising in Pulsacoils..

Tony - thanks for the time you are taking to advise. I completely understand what you are saying. I have contacted one of the companies but they rejected my claim saying they carried out the fault find and nothing was found, in effect did their job. It is stressing me massively. I am...

I am at a loss really. Does Mike come on here? I was thinking, based on the unit working supposedly, that I would get the wall timer/off peak box tested. Inside this box the boost has a separate wire from the off-peak so I am hoping that it might not be giving any power to the init during...

Hi, Both were engineers who specialise in Pulsacoil systems. I have paid £200 and I still have this disfunctioning system.
