Thanks all, was nice and easy to do. I've noticed a slight leak in the NRV now anyway (very very slow) so will replace that when it get's a bit warmer and i have time to drain the system. Thanks again (y)

Replacing a filler loop, DIY job?

So if I leave the circled part attached (see new photo) and just remove at the arrow, the NRV will hold the water in the system? I have the full loop purchased from screwfix above

Replacing a filler loop, DIY job?

So, it is definitely leaking from the black tap. I've attached another copy of the image with some labels on.... Am I correct in saying end 1 is the cold water feed. Turning that off at the mains and draining the taps in the house will remove the pressure on that, making it safe to remove? Just...

Replacing a filler loop, DIY job?

I'll double check in the morning, but I'm 99% sure it's from the little black tap itself. However, I do lose pressure from the boiler slowly, would that suggest the leak is on one of the joints? I'm not sure which side of the tap is the cold feed and which is the heating system.

Replacing a filler loop, DIY job?

I have a cylinder in the airing cupboard, would the hot tap not drain that whole thing? Switch off the main stop tap, leave taps open til they stop and I won't get a flood when removing those filler loop, from either end ? Do I need the R24 loop from this link below...

Replacing a filler loop, DIY job?

I have a constant drip from the little black tap on my filler loop. I've already tried nipping the valve screw a touch tighter which didn't change anything. A picture below to show you. I fill that little bucket below about once a day. I see you can just buy the whole filler loop assembly for...

    Leaky Overflow Pipe

I've tried flushing the toilet and holding the ball up to stop the toilet refilling... This has highlighted a leak from what look like that blue thing? The piston/siphon?? Over time, even with the ball held up to block the filler valve, the cistern is refilling itself. Assuming I need...

    Leaky Overflow Pipe

Thanks for all the replies so far! My thinking with the toilet is, if there were a split or leak on the overflow pipe, It'd either: 1. See bubbles maybe? 2. See the fillup dripping water back into the cistern at the same rate as the leak outside? The water level isn't moving in the...

    Leaky Overflow Pipe

yes, the toilet is right on the limit, but definitely no water going into the white pipe from the top. Where will I find the cistern in the roof?

    Leaky Overflow Pipe

Please excuse my ignorance...I don't know an awful lot about plumbing and therefore not familiar with the correct names for everything. Basically, I have a leaking overflow pipe (small white pipe sticking out of the external brickwork at approx. first floor joist level). It's leaking at a...
