    £1000 sounds extreme, have you tried a few other suppliers? You would use frame extenders to fill the gap, normally available from the same place you buy the window so as to ensure compatibility.

    You buy a standard panel, remove the end vertical battens from each side, trim the laps down as necessary and then reattach the end battens. Standard heights are 3ft, are you sure yours isnt 3ft? Wickes are quite reasonable for delivery charges, £4 I think.

    I have the Lidl one, invariably it's slightly too short to be used, only used it a couple of times maybe and as mentioned above it's a bit fickle to use, usually a couple of attempts need to be made to clamp it up tight as it tends to wander a tiny bit in doing so.

    You'll want polished edges or the sawn edges will have the cut marks and will look opaque.
