    PVA not really needed just DON'T use only yellow sand in the mortar mix it will drop out of the bed in time.i like a 3x1 mix!! 1 cement 1 yellow building sand 2 brown building sand which will give it strength and feb mix not squezzee liquid...

    best mix i find is 2 yellow 1 brown building sand 1 cement goes rock hard.not keen on all yellow sand mix.bed and point as you go.feb mix is the way to go.only 6 quid a bottle

    Is this normal? Tiles around velux look messy

    The tiles a kicking up at the sides of the velux because they will be sitting on the sponge on the flashings.we always remove this because getting the tiles to sit right is nigh on impossible due to the thickness of sponge.or trim it down,but with a flat tile like these better to remove it..

    easy tiger,actually it was a freind who is on th GS registar.no money changed hands i done his roof and he put the system in. just trying eliminate things. he is going to drain system and put a cleaner in to see if that can sort it..

    you could use onduline sheets,then use slates at a 100-125mm lap the onduline will keep any water out. or ply wood sheet the roof and felt it pour and rool or torch on. counter batten then felt and batten it before slating or tiling it

    my boiler has started making a loud banging and grinding noise googled the problem and said it could be an airlock,as the boiler has automatic vents to prevent this, could it still be air in the system..

    continous dry verge is better than individual units in my humble opinion comes in 5m lengths and a jointer is available if the spar length is longer. profiles vary from small tiles to a deep profile tile or a small profile for slates..
