can I waterproof plasterboard by glueing roofing felt to it?

I was thinking contact adhesive to attach the felt to the plaster board. But I also thought the OP was referring to shed roofing felt, not Tyvek, so that tiles could be attached to its rough surface with tile adhesive. No intention of doing this but it did seem a good economical use of some...

    Extension cable to telephone socket

Two wires will do for modern phones on an extension Terminals 2&,5 in the master socket are the ones. Hopefully your extension and the new extension socket are numbered the same, but if necessary trial and error from the existing socket will not take too long

    Landlord doing own non-notifiable work

Perhaps the landlord could employ a competent person to just conduct the necessary tests ,(possibly at an over the barrel rate) then attach those results if 0K to his own MWC.

can I waterproof plasterboard by glueing roofing felt to it?

I still cannot see a reason given why it would not work. If the felt is bonded to the plaster board-- not just hanging from nails-- exactly what would cause a problem?

    Landlord doing own non-notifiable work

Hope I am not hijacking the thread, but if the landlord had undertaken the work and not tested it, so had not issued a minor works certificate, how could the situation be best progressed so that the tenants, landlord and insurers were all satisfied? It seems that removing the works and having...

    Extending your existing dining table!!

A temporary solution would be to make a larger removeable top . A piece of MDF or ply cut to the size of surface needed could be screwed to and be held in a place with a ,'frame" the size of the existing table made from 2x1. The overhangs would have to be reasonable. Further engineering to use...

    Accents 8 alarm

If it goes off, and cannot be silenced by entering code, you will need to remove power from the panel, open the panel, remove battery then get ladder access to the bell box, open it and remove battery. (You could do this now to disable it.) Or remove power from panel and listen to bell until...

    Reposition BT master socket...

The orang, blue, white thin wires are the cable from the master to an extension. They will need to be retained if you wish to keep the extension. To move the master, you need to open the socket and gain access to the incoming connection.(You said this was a black BT cable. There will be a pair...

Concrete or plaster in eye gets you triaged to the front of the A&E queue. That alone shows how serious it is considered. Copious amount of eye washout liquid is applied and an antibiotic cream given.

Supporting battens would brace the struts against spread and are essential to prevent the shelves tilting and slipping. Its fine for sensible amounts of storage and electric train sets!

Received an 'Alleged Breach of Condition' from Council Planning Control - Help!

The notice can be served on the responsible person and this is any person who has developed the job or the person owning the land. But in the latter case can only relate to a planning condition on the use of the land. The person who started the building is the neighbour and is the person...

Received an 'Alleged Breach of Condition' from Council Planning Control - Help!

No. The breach is on the neighbour's land, where a structure (the house) has been erected which does not (yet) fully comply with the permission. How did they manage to gain occupancy, as the building is only partially complete.?

Received an 'Alleged Breach of Condition' from Council Planning Control - Help!

The new house was built by the new buyer. They acquired no rights over the unpurchased land and so could not comply with the conditions concerning the building of the house. They have not complied. They should have applied with a new proposal that was achievable within their own control. How...

Received an 'Alleged Breach of Condition' from Council Planning Control - Help!

Planning permission was applied for by the original owner and granted to the land. Anybody could have applied for the grant of permission, but the granting does not confer any rights over land not owned. After the sales and division of the plots, unless there was agreement within the sale to...
