FFS. I just think people should be corrected when they use the wrong words whether its calling 'half a pint' a 'gill' or using 'of' instead of 'have'. It's not a great debate involving ancestors.

Cable size for two ovens and a hob from extension CU with 6mm supply

Will the new kitchen be the main house's kitchen or a separate one for the extension?

Cable size for two ovens and a hob from extension CU with 6mm supply

Ideal. Do that then. No need. It could but 6mm² would do - probably 4mm² but people use 6mm² for historic reasons. Yes, very silly - especially as one would be in a bedroom above the kitchen.

    Amazing! Perhaps not deliberately obtuse..

    Here's one I made earlier:

I see what you have done there. You want yes/no answers but include so many qualifiers which require explanation it makes yes/no impossible. I will just say that I have said many times we cannot alter what has already happened but there is no need to continue having the language decided by the...

Lighting earth issues - could I just run a fused spur from the power circuit

Yes, people will do that. However 1.5mm² T&E has a maximum current carrying capacity of 20A - a lot of LEDs.

Lighting earth issues - could I just run a fused spur from the power circuit

Yes, nothing wrong with doing that. No limit on the number of lights. Fuse rating determined by rating/size of cable. It could be argued both ways, so choose the way you want. Go ahead.

I think you are being deliberately obtuse.

I understand what you are saying but I don't understand why you think as you do. Except in the instances where you say there are. Yes I would think that crazy but I also think the other errors are equally crazy and don't understand why you do not. . People's stupidity becoming the majority...

I was - but I don't really understand your views . Why then, is it different than using any other word wrongly? Well, it sort of has and is. It means a tenth - decimetre etc.. Probably the ignorant used the word wrongly then more copied them - the same as happens now when people spell and...

Yes, but my point was for John who seems to think it is 'evolution' and a good thing whenever I point out such mistakes.

Mmmmm. Surely if people know what is really meant then it is alright and could eventually become correct. Is that not how it works?

Cable size for two ovens and a hob from extension CU with 6mm supply

Ok. No. It is a flawed concept. Anyway, I, at least, am not even sure that what you want to do is present-proof.

Cable size for two ovens and a hob from extension CU with 6mm supply

Ok, so is it easy to run a 10mm² from bedroom to the switch?

Lighting (first fix) T&E to flex / outlet plate

It's not really a protector - just a guide and/or a holder. Not if it or just the cable will stay in place without clipping.

Cable size for two ovens and a hob from extension CU with 6mm supply

I know but what about the other way round? I am about to build an en-suite bedroom extension (with see above), can I power the bedroom consumer unit from the house cooker circuit in the next room? The answer will obviously be the same but I will leave it to someone else to say "Yes, carry on".

I'm confused about the origin of the supply cable.
