Electric boilers (non combi)--anyone had one fitted?

I hadn't come across this so thanks. Trouble is with changing any central heating system the cost of installation is considerable as each system has to be virtually redone. I had a look at solid fuel but that's not possible as a flue would have to be installed and the stairs would be in the...

Electric boilers (non combi)--anyone had one fitted?

Once again thanks for your replies. I contacted the oil suppliers and today they're selling at 70p/litre for > 500 litre delivery. That works out at £2k+ this winter. What they did say that surprised me was that oil varies in price and it's not always much more expensive in winter (reflected...

Electric boilers (non combi)--anyone had one fitted?

Thank you all for replying so quickly i do appreciate it. New tank would seem the best option then even though they'd cost almost what a boiler would which is why i posted the question. In the back of my mind i did wonder if you'd confirm that. In this village most folk have a whopping 3000...

    Reinforcing lawn for car turning

Another idea is just to make up your own grid using paving bricks. 4 ins say between rows. Put the bricks on a 2 ins batten for ease of laying and getting the height right. This is what i'm going to do as 50 bricks cost about £10. I mentioned before the concrete slabs with 'centre mesh' - it's...

Electric boilers (non combi)--anyone had one fitted?

I'm considering an electric boiler to replace the oil one for the following reasons a] oil tank about to rust through (they are expensive) b] the supply pipe has been set into the brick mortar which is in danger of leaking now c] cost of oil (also risk of theft) I've been trying to read...

    Reinforcing lawn for car turning

If you have quite a large area and want to make a really good job of it the concrete slabs with a centre mesh for planting grass is a good idea. I'm thinking of doing this with our drive as i'm sick of gravel. Thus supports vehicles, easy to maintain with mower and 'weed and feed'.

metal roller paint tray--aren't you tired of the plastic?

I've seen a number of posts where folk have complained at cleaning plastic roller trays. There are inserts that one can get but these weren't to my liking. Personally i find the trays a pain to clean... paint sticks to the little bubbles and even using a paint brush to rub round them seems to...

Paint Manufacturers - BS Colour Codes

One needs to be aware of certain RAL colours as they can be hard (expensive) to mix due to the pigments used my decorator store advises. The advantage of BS colours is that they can be mixed in whatever paint type you like - 2-pack vehicle paint, yacht paint, masonary, standard gloss etc.

    open fire back boiler

I know it was a while ago that you first posted this. I'm just looking at present and have found someone that still provides just the back boiler to go at the rear of an open fire - £110. You and i may be old fashioned but it was actually a darned good idea and most back boilers can supply...
