Cheers for that, I'm giving ptfe a go - thicker than usual and overhanging the bottom of the screw to hopefully seal as it screws in. Unfortunately the back pipe goes direct through the wall at that height. Without drilling through bricks, I can't do anything about that :(

I had to remove parts of my sink waste pipes to remove fatbergs... Now I'm trying to put it back and I can't work out how it was clearly bodged before to not leak... This is what I'm working with: There's no space on the trap side of the pipework to put a ring on - it's just the screw thread...
