What do I use to sand walls?

Hi All, I'm going to be repainting all our walls in the house. The majority of them are plaster on brick if that makes any difference. Currently painted with vinyl matt, going to be re-painted with Leyland acrylic undercoat and Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt. The wall surface feels a little rough...

Our stair case is wooden too. It has a bull nose. How difficult would it be to laminate that too?

LVT or laminate on top of floorboards?

Hi All, We want to replace the laminate flooring upstairs in our hallway and 3 bedrooms. Currently, the laminate is laid on top of fibre underlay which in turn is laid directly on top of floorboards. Can we lay click type LVT on top of the existing underlay or does it need to be laminate...

Cost for bricking up a small window?

Thanks people for all the replies. I'm going to try and repair the frame by chopping out the rotten wood, putting new timber in and then use epoxy as £400 - £500 is not in our budget at the moment.

Wow...more than I thought. Probably best I consider a repair of the rotten timber then?

Cost for bricking up a small window?

That doesn't really bother me as it's around the side of the house.

Cost for bricking up a small window?

No. It's blocked up by kitchen cabinets, worktop and glass splashback. I believe the gap where the window was was boarded up with plasterboard if that helps. Basically, any works need to be done outside only. Nothing inside.

Cost for bricking up a small window?

Not sure. There's no access to the window from the kitchen side anymore.

Cost for bricking up a small window?

I was thinking about that but keep in mind this window doesn't function anymore and was there before we re-did the kitchen. What about chopping out the rotten timber and replacing that? Is that a viable and fairly simple thing to do?

Cost for bricking up a small window?

I guess I could remove the half bricks up the sides but not thought that much about it to be honest. Any idea what it'll cost? Alternative is to repair the window. It doesn't open anymore and is only there as 'decorative'. It's around the side of the house too. Do you think it looks repairable...

Cost for bricking up a small window?

Hi All, I have a small, ground floor window which is rotten and needs bricking up as this used to be the kitchen window about 10 years ago but we've since re-done the kitchen. I have the bricks. The window is around 1m wide x 1.2m high. If I remove the old window, any idea what a bricky would...

Been advised not to stand on the toilet. Any other ideas or do I need to remove the toilet?

    What scraper do I need?

So, the heat gun and Toughbuilt utility scraper works a treat. It takes a long time and you're right about needing to heat the tile up a lot as it acts like a heat sink for the paint. I've just got some wire brushes from Amazon and plan on soaking the grout in Panther tomorrow and scraping it...
