I take it where the timer option is located there is a timer option plug installed?

Both the old setup and new hive are basically just simple switches so i can't understand it not working.

If you put the system back to what it was before hive does everything then work as it should? Is there a way to test if the hive is definitely switching when heat is called for?

It looks like it should be a straight forward swap from old to the new hive thermostat so strange it isn't working properly.

The tiles above looks separated from the mortar verge so you may be able to lift that up enough to get the tile below out. You will probably have to remove all the tiles below it and rebed them looking at the age of the mortar.

Yes I've seen a few binding gutters used round my way and even a roof where they've installed the same tile but still put in a bonding gutter for some reason.

I take it as well if the tiles are different they will want to fit a bonding gutter between the two sets of tiles.

Some closer pictures of the roof and gutters etc would help.

My old toilet cistern used to get covered in condensation and run down and drip off one of the bolts underneath.

Its the nut side that I think will stand out a bit. Still an option though if the other way is too much work or I can't get the side piece out easily enough.

I don't have a picture unfortunately as it's my nephew's house. But the doors are normally marked lock or key on the side that the lock and handle should be fitted so the owner has fitted it to the other side where there's no timber between the outer skins of the door. Nuts and bolts won't...
