    Assuming continuous dry verge (type S)then the verge slates need to come off and cut back . Anyone who says the slates can stay on don't intend to do it correctly . I mention type s it's the only one worth considering . Materials are cheap .

    115 on vertical is ok . I can just see they are over that as have others . Little cut tiles , amateurish . The lead at the top is covering the nails but not weathering anything.

    Yes head lap is very important . Firstly yes you have Redland 49s in smooth . Secondly you have short headlap. If you have a problem , Redland won't pick up the bill

    You don't have to counter batten .unless it's a boarded roof . The underlay should be draped not pulled taught . If you can not drape it then you need counter battens . As he knew it was boarded then hard luck on him . To be honest a few counter battens don't cost much and there's a time saving...

    100 mm insulated panels are not bad at all. Long ago we were involved in tricky detailing at Heathrow airport.. It was 100mm metal panels It did rain while we were there and I would not say it was noisy. . Un insulated then it will be .
