    Iso valve on central heating

Depends who made them & to what standard : Pegler Yorkshire 15mm Manual Ball Valve Pressure rating 16 bar at 30°C (cold), 5 bar at 120°C (hot) If they are leaking, change them. They used to cost loads of money and be really well made but then they had to be fitted everywhere, became cheap and...

    Iso valve on central heating

Typically an unvented combi has 4 isolation valves supplied by the manufacturer. If a filter is fitted then that is 2 more. Plus 2 on every radiator. There are however several places where fitting an additional one would not be acceptable

Are Sunvic zone valves any good

I think everyone here already does this to valve heads as a matter of course. Good tip on the synchron motors though I am going to start doing that also

Boiler losing pressure every day, replaced PRV, Gauge not showing high pressure

If you want to confirm that the pressure gauge is not lying, you could screw a gauge in to any convenient place, remove plug or vent from radiator, then fill to 1 bar & compare gauges Alternatively using the gear you already have, vessel is filled to 0.7 bar with system unpressured, so if you...

    Showers gone luke warm?

At the back of the instruction book it shows where the filters are located. Muck in the filters is a possible. Alternatively if you can feel the pipes leading to the showers, a shower letting by can mean that cold passes in to the hot therefore shower is only fed with tepid water at the hot...

    Low mains water pressure

You need to decide if it is poor pressure or poor flow rate that is your problem before deciding how to cure it. What size main comes in? Are all stop taps including the outside one fully open?

Heating not going off on timer

When you swap the backplates, have a little felt tip handy to number the cables and a scrap of paper to make notes. The diagram in both clocks should make the swap pretty self explanatory. A quick photo before you begin may also be useful. Let us know how you get on.

Heating not going off on timer

I think so too but I am not certain yet hence the further tests. We have at last moved the indicator to heating only position without turning cylinder stat down so I am probably right in my assumption but I would have wanted your heating to come on during this test. Suggest you go back to...

    Pushfit and plumber problems

I generally use hep2o stainless steel liners for compression & speedfit superseal for pushfit but any will work. I have an old B31 on the road and another B31 in bits. The original date of the in bits one in the log book is the same as the original date on my birth cert so it was meant to be. I...

    Pushfit and plumber problems

It would also line up better with where that pipe comes through the joist on the right hand pipe. You would then need to shorten the plastic to suit. The left hand one I would just put back as it is with a conex tee in place of the push fit one. I wouldn't worry about shortening the pipe on that...

    Pushfit and plumber problems

No, use compression but if you use any pushfit fittings such as the 2 stem elbows I mentioned, you do need a liner in the pipe when you push it into the fitting.

Heating not going off on timer

You can get valve to w only position with water on & heating off. At this point hot water should come in to centre of valve & flow out one port of valve to cylinder . The other pipe should remain cold but yours does not. Valve letting by (not properly closing heating circuit) After 45 mins I...
