    Breaking up reinforced concrete

It's a 15.5kg breaker not the weaker drill type SDS breaker and the strip is only 300cm wide so it should do the job .

    Breaking up reinforced concrete

It's probably cheaper to buy a breaker and use it for what you want then sell it on eBay. I borrowed a mates titan breaker and it broke up a reinforced path no problem. http://www.screwfix.com/p/titan-ttb280drh-15-5kg-hex-shank-breaker-230v/67819 Mike

You can buy garden soakaway crates that will give you a good long term solution to your we lawn. Best ways to check a potential builder

Some thoughts for your consideration; 1.is he easily accessible by phone, email etc? He should be. 2. Will he split his time between your job and others? 3. Notwithstanding any extra work, will he complete works in a reasonable time frame? 4. Does he sub contract some of the work out and will he...

Drilling in Stone Resin Shower Tray

When the builders installed our shower screens they put some tape down on the tray, marked out where to drill then without using the hammer action they used a smaller drill as a pilot then a 6mm and plugged it. I'm pretty sure they used the Bosch multi construction bits . You will need to...

    Site toilets

hi all I'm having a bit of building work done shortly and I don't want the trades using our house toilets, so having never hired a site toilet before, I was wondering if there are any issues I should be aware of? There is plenty of room for the toilet to sit on my property but the sort of...

Duplicate Thread - Removing inspection chamber cover in block paving

Normally there are a couple of slots for standard manhole keys to fit but if there is anything to grip then try some locking pliers with a stout screwdriver. Mike

    Drilling accurately up into masonry

Use a smaller masonry bit first to go through the plaster then , if it's a concrete lintel get out the SDS drill and a 5.5mm bit and drill to the length of the screws and put in a red plug. If you have a catnic lintel up there , then use a good battery drill and a 3mm titanium bit a no8 screw. Mike

    Plastering over tiles.

I would try to get the surface tiles off without disturbing the cement underneath, don't worry if you can't get every last bit of tile off ( you just want a rough area for the bonding plaster to cling to ). Then fix a batten to the wall above the tiled area that is a tad proud of the roughed up...

Filling deep cavitys between render and wood?

If it were me, I would fill the gap with bonding plaster then skim with whatever you have to hand ,multi finish or filler. Although if you have any multi finish to hand , you can mix it 50/50 with bonding plaster and do it in one strike and smooth off with a wet knife or trowel. If this is done...

How long before bonding problem becomes evident on skim?

Walls that have been painted usually need a coat of blue grit ( pva mixed with grit ) to help adhesion but sometimes if the wall is uneven or if the plasterer scored the surface, then that is enough to provide a key for the plaster. Plaster relies on suction to help it adhere to the walls and if...
