Kitchen Cabinets- How would you fix this?

I wouldn't faff around with the doors as they are, I would buy replacement kitchen doors and transform the whole kitchen at minimal cost. Plenty of suppliers out there and would look a whole lot better than painting the existing doors IMHO. Mike

    Trimming down door help!

Your best bet is to buy a cheap jigsaw ( screwfix do one for under £20 with a wood cutting blade ) and clamp a piece of straight edge wood to the door as a guide for the saw and take just enough wood off to get a good edge. You can buy a couple of F clamps for about £7 and you can use a long...

    Damaged Plaster

Buy a speedskim plastering blade and mix up some easy fill 45 and spread over the area to smooth out any imperfections. The speedskim has a wider blade than a caulking knife and will make it easier to level out the wall. You may have to sand the area a bit but it will turn out ok, just make...

    Painting newly plastered walls

We had to paint the whole of our house after the building works had finished and we used crown white emulsion as the mist coat. It wasn't a trade paint so I don't know how it compares to a thicker paint but the result is good with no peeling or flaking. I did give all the walls a rub down with...

How to drill a hole in a wall?

Get someone to hold a piece of plasterboard over the wall on the inside area that you are drilling into and as you punch through with the drill, the plasterboard will help to keep the plaster intact. Of course if the plaster has blown across the wall , then nothing will stop the plaster falling...

can't get nails up from floor!

You could try one of two ways 1. With a electric multi tool and a narrow metal cutting blade fitted, just go deep enough to take the nail head off and then lever the board up. 2. Use a dremel tool to grind the head off the nail and then lever up the board. Mike

    Kitchens: Howdens vs B&Q

We bought our kitchen from http://www.diy-kitchens.com/ and I can honestly say that we are very pleased with the units and the service from this company. Have a look and price them up against the other companies that charge extra doors and feet etc. Mike I do not work for them and I am only a...

    Combi for large homes?

In our last house which was a four bedroom detached house, we had to replace the boiler after 20 years loyal service and was advised of two ways to go. The first was to fit a condensing boiler ( direct replacement) to the existing system only with a slightly bigger boiler and a pump to get hot...
