    I’ve got one bucket load out from lower vent in picture but think some bricks may be wedged half way up chimney. I’ve got access to chimney as it’s half dismantled in the loft and I can see bricks in it - it doesn’t go above the roof so no water from outside.

    Picture above wider , shows patches of damp on wall below rail , above it marked A feels damp . Below you can see air vent - I cleared bucket of rubble but think chimney still full of rubble. Not sure how to clear this ?

    Thanks for the reply, yes a lot of my research is pointing in that direction. I think I need to unblock the chimney of rubble as that may be causing moisture to permeate through the wall and bringing salts with it . Unblocking the chimney looks tricky !

    It doesn’t appear to be condensation as put foil on wall and not damp on air side.
