    Botched job - Floor Boards

I imagined myself facing this situation, and while I can think of ways to do it, I would probably live with it. Otherwise cut the tongues out with a floorboard saw, and hammer/lever the boards out (easier than trying to drill the brads). If you don't want to remove the skirting on the side...

    Do I need planning permission??

Arguably the wall there now is not adjacent to the highway, but the new wall would be, and would therefore be subject to a height limit of 1m to be permitted development. I say "new wall", because once you've knocked down that stretch of wall, there is no wall there. Not sure that demolishing a...

    EPDM prep

Yes, it stuck very well and is still stuck four years on. The important thing is for the OSB to be absolutely dry. I do remember a small dusting of talc here and there, but I didn't do anything about it. I'd like to see a reply from MW Roofline, because he is a roofer and I am not.

Glueing OSB to a garage roof?? What are you glueing it to?

    EPDM prep

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you only need to glue both roof and rubber for the edges, where you're using contact adhesive? I just applied the water-based to the deck, with a roller.

Routing speaker cables through thermally insulated plasterboard

That hot ball is going to work on polystyrene, but I don't see it working on PU-backed insulated plasterboard. The OP is going to have to make a channel, as suggested, then make good afterwards.

    Fitting OSB3 for EPDM

It's possible for one person to get 8' x 4' OSB sheets onto a roof. Lean the sheet against the wall. or against one of the joists inside the building. Lift the bottom onto something so you can get your hands underneath. Place hands underneath, lift the board as high as you can till it wants to...

Which direction to lay flooring (with pic)?

Yes, left to right. I was thinking aesthetically. No idea about expansion and contraction.

I'd run them lengthways myself, for no particular reason

    Help completing a Garden Room

Yes. you need a footing round the edge to support the wall. The floor is just for walking on and putting things on. In the real world of garden rooms, your floor slab would probably be perfectly adequate to support the walls. However, for proper footings dig a trench a couple of feet deep (you'd...

    Trimming skirting whilst in situ

I've never understood why it was permitted to sell angle grinders with lock-on switches. This was the story about the fatal consequences of using a saw blade in a grinder, that I recalled: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1172118/DIY-enthusiast-died-improvised-power-tool-sliced-neck.html

Smoke/Weed Smell Coming Through Chimney Breast

Damn sight quicker and easier just to get on and do it. And you certainly don't want to start a war with your neighbours.
