Has plug and play solar now been passed, I see adverts?

I did not put in a link, as not sure about legality if I said who the plumbing firm was, I did a Google hunt for "Plug in Solar" and got for my first 6 hits. The third one was Argos which was it seemingly being completely legal, and the Amazon adds may not be UK, so hard to say if aimed for the...

    Log periodic aerial elements length

Sorry seems are on free platforms I had clearly picked the wrong one, I do it seems to have :- Freely, Free to Air, Freeview, and Sky Q. Freeview is useless, Free to air the program guide is not much good, the freesat has nearly as many programs as Free to Air, but better program guide. The Sky...

Has plug and play solar now been passed, I see adverts?

Registered office: Crick, Northampton, NN6 7SL so being sold by a British firm, see nothing in advert to say not yet passed, the data sheet says Schuko plug, it has the company name on data sheet, so thought better not to say what plumbing outlet are selling them. It says 6 in basket in last 24...

Light in room flickers when turning it on

One room, wife's bedroom, we have a chandelier with 5 x G9 bulbs, and an electronic on/off switch, that does not require a neutral, on moving to LED the lights had a shimmer when on, and would flash when turned off, latter cured with a load capacitor, but the shimmer was a real problem. Swap one...

    Log periodic aerial elements length

Moel-y-sant is not near Bala. As a relay station it does not have commercial stations, so no UKTV channels UK Gold etc. So at Llanfair Caereinion we have a great narrow gauge railway, but terrestrial TV is useless.

Build A NZ -UK Power Lead

I have looked at cable entry points, with our plugs, pulling the cable will not pull plug out of the wall, it damages plug and socket to try and means the cable is more of a trip hazard, these plugs, clearly designed for outside use, but if you tripped on the cables, plug would come out, rather...

I need to find work in Kent. But at least he got a response from insurance, snow brought down our gutters, and still trying to get them fixed.

Build A NZ -UK Power Lead

I remember a site with the Reyrolle plugs and sockets, there was a small difference, so you could plug in a fused plug in either socket type, but the unfused plug would only fit fused sockets. The unfused sockets were on a 32 amp ring, relying on the fuses in the plug, the pins were the fuses...

    Log periodic aerial elements length

Can you come and do mine? Well I have an aerial, but not used, Moel-y-Sant does not broadcast many channels so hardly worth the effort, I do use the satellite dish, but I have not a clue when the dish is being used, and when the internet is being used, when using Sky Q, but find I am using...

    Lack of hot water

It seems an odd set-up, but motorised valve bleed levers feel slack if open. It seems many have a problem with domestic hot water (DHW) and one problem is loss of energy in the summer. In winter energy lost from pipework still heats the house, so not wasted, but in summer it could cause air...

Top coat (gloss) bubbles in the sun?

All new wood, got pre-treated, and 7 days between coats, as only volunteer once a week. We are trying to make the signal box look more heritage, a bit odd, as normally see wood building clad in brick, this is reverse. we are making it look as if a wood building, as that fits the look for the...

Top coat (gloss) bubbles in the sun?

Painted 4 sides of the building, only a problem on the side which got the sun, bubbles formed in the paint. I will guess paint too thick, and a skin had formed before paint under skin had dried, but I was not really painting it thick, so to get any thinner it would need white sprite added, not...

    Solar panels and birds nesting.

They follow the local steam train, I think it disturbs wild life, and they catch them, great view from the veranda at the back of the train.

    Solar panels and birds nesting.

The red-tailed kites mean birds would not last long if they nested in the solar panels, eggs and chicks would soon be food. I would guess it depends on where you live.

I broke the main fuse seal

I found the CU only supplied the flat under the main house, in the ceiling space was a fuse box, which supplied the main house, which was rather inaccessible, not really an option, had to fit a new CU. Got conned however, the RCBO boxes said in bold letters type B, they were not, they were curve...

Light in room flickers when turning it on

I have paid a premium for a bulb that flickers. Seems they are quite the thing in pubs, it stops one reading the menu too easy, and I note old wiring regulations refer to "Lighting fittings using filament lamps installed in a room having a non-conducting floor," when allowing lighting without an...

Light in room flickers when turning it on

Agreed, but it seems they didn't as screw tight, but wire loose, I know vibration can cause screws to become loose, but then to tighten back up again seems to be pushing it somewhat.
