    Gas Pipe size questions

I know, that's the whole point, so you shouldn't use them in the online calculators. With the right inputs Gas Pipe Calculator gives 0.678mb Gas Pipe Sizing Calculator gives 0.693mb What figures do you get?

    Climate Change

I always thought that argument was clutching at straws, and even if it were true it would be better to get it ourselves than via Norway The present lot are leaning in the direction of destroying our economy .

    Gas Pipe size questions

You're getting silly now. If you use the online calculators you have to enter the right data, in this case the right type of bend. I've tried to explain the difference between an elbow and a mitre bend but it hasn't sunk in. Using elbows, the online calculators give 0.68-0.69mb, not 0.8881mb as...

    Gas Pipe size questions

I don't want to bring mitred bends into the calcs, I was just pointing out that your pressure loss is based on bends in your online calculator which it treats as mitred bends, so overestimates the pressure loss. I suppose that's better than underestimating, but it doesn't mean it's right. Yes...

    Gas Pipe size questions

I did You're not in a position to claim that. I tried to educate you about mitre elbows, but you didn't comment. If you've been selecting that in your online calculator all your working life, you've been overestimating pressure loss, and potentially telling a customer he must increase a gas...

    Gas Pipe size questions

Your 1st link refers to form bends and elbows. It doesn't define them, but the figure it calculates for 2 off 90° elbows, 0.4mb, is close to my figure for a mitre (or sharp corner if you prefer). I've never seen one either, in copper anyway. Another online one Gas Pipe Calculator shows a...

    Climate Change

I'm not a fanatic about man-made climate change, but that's not an argument. It could be because the people in power in America do things to their advantage, and don't care about the planet.

    Gas Pipe size questions

Online calculators will have some safety added (understandably), but I've calculated it accurately. Your figures are for elbows, mitred, but when did you last see one of those? They will be bends, I used the sharpest, r/d = 1, with loss 0.35 x vel pressure (mitred elbows 1.5 x). So online still...

'UK has been colonised by immigrants'

There's a lot of difference between free and £140k pa. I suppose it's not huge compared with what company directors get, but I often wonder how much of the money collected gets to those in need.

    Gas Pipe size questions

Using 33.7kW, giving gas flow 3.1m3/h, 1m pipe, ID 13.6mm and generous roughness 0.02mm and 2 elbows I make loss just under 0.5mb. Online calculator I have says 0.68mb. I don't think there's a problem, but if the OP is worried he could take some measurements.

    Gas Pipe size questions

Allowable pressure loss between meter and boiler is 1mb. Calculated loss is well below that so no problem.

'UK has been colonised by immigrants'

There was a Labour guy on GBNews this morning claiming immigration had fallen by 80% under this government. He wasn't challenged, but I find that hard to believe. Cherrypicking figures maybe.

And often they don't want to take care of their parents in old age, as happens in some countries, that's the state's job. But there's no way they're going to give up the inheritance and a £0.5 million house when they pop off.
