    Spray paint over old paint

Ok John, so if you can explain what went wrong with the prep and why I have the situation I have on the ceiling and none id the walls, as I don’t recall you commenting on the original posts. So... the room was boarded and skimmed. 50/50 mist coat on walls and ceiling. Walls dried ok, possibly...

    Spray paint over old paint

I agree, but sometimes something are surprisingly handy. I won’t be fussed if I can get rid of whatever has happened here and get a normal roll on it.

Agreed, it looked pretty handy in the demonstrations but you never know

    Roller marks everywhere

Tried a few things with paint etc and now face facts I need to skim fill or sand it back with a power sander. My little hand held sand is the only thing that worked..... but 36sqm May take a while

    Spray paint over old paint

I was only going to get one of the Wagner flexi ones for a couple hundred ? I’m guessing they may be rubbish then? I don’t want something that was new, left with all these imperfections so I’m facing the fact that I either need to get a power sander on it or skim fill with easifill. I can...

    Spray paint over old paint

No, it was a rear extension, with a warm deck flat roof. Open room as no bifolds fitted yet. Never happened to the wall

    Roller marks everywhere

It would be relatively easy to mix a bucket of easi fill and skim scrape over the entire ceiling. Just so annoying as I had it plastered and painted so many times. I’ve new plastered walls inside, done the same as this ceiling and are fine. So spray won’t fill holes?

    Spray paint over old paint

As in other posts, had a mare with ceiling drying funny with small holes everywhere. I’m going to buy a sprayer as an investment as I like the idea of a perfect finish. Question- 1 - will a sprayer fill the existing holes and imperfections or will I need to mass fill smooth 2 - if sprayed...

    Roller marks everywhere

Will a primer fill the holes? I pole sanded mine with 120 grit and done sod all really. You have ri be pressing very hard and take an eternity to get smooth. Im going to buy myself a new toy and get a sprayer.

    Roller marks everywhere

I’m only joking. I don’t know why I didn’t just buy a Wagner paint sprayer. Would have been much simpler and an investment. So my problem is now the different texture. Would a sprayer fill these imperfections? Or will I literally have to fill them smooth? Because even a 120 grit didn’t...

    Roller marks everywhere

Is that just to say I must be a rubbish painter I don’t know what’s gone on or why it’s drying like that. Now I feel the only way to start again is to mass fill the tiny holes with easi fill which would take ages.

    Flashing / deep pimples

Here is a photo. What you may think are raised bumps, they are not.... they are little dimples

    Roller marks everywhere

Nope. Didn’t get to the bottom of it. Thing is now, I tried so many different things and paint that I may have encountered a couple of different issues. I’ve attached a photo, it’s hard to see, it has been sanded with 120 grit and you can still see some of the deep little holes. What you may...

    Flashing / deep pimples

Will take a photo later, No PVA as far as I’m aware. Not massive areas. Would it have anything to do with the back doors not being on? So there’s a wide opening

    Flashing / deep pimples

Hello, right I have an old post about painting flashing in the daylight. I tried a few diffemrt paints from cheap to expensive. Whatever I did I could get rid. I thought I was lapping but it seems where flashing is, it’s like clusters of pimples. It’s fresh plaster on board. I can’t sand all...

    Type. 1 subbase incorrect?

That’s what they said, that id over done it, but I had to fill it anyway. Rather over do it than it move. It’s really crap ground. House is on piles

    Type. 1 subbase incorrect?

Ok, thanks for that. Landscaping (apart from fencing is one thing I’ve never done. Yeah, so it is exactly as you describe. I thought maybe they hadn’t done it properly, although I did think it needed to be done in 50mm layers. I could come up another inch and still be at my desired height. I’d...

    Roller marks everywhere

I’ve painted this poxy ceiling 5 times. This time I hadn’t spots in. Now they are out and I’ve had to repair the majority of the holes. Now waiting for it to dry. The last time I painted it with Dulux supermatt. I definitely left a wet edge. Same marks are making me thinks it’s an uneven surface...

    Roller marks everywhere

Not sure if anyone will get this as it’s been a while. Basically I purchased a dearer paint. It’s made no difference. In fact, lines in the same places so upon further inspection, it looks like the texture in the marked areas looks different, it as flat. The plasterboard was plastered and had...
