Thanks. I spoke to the manufacturer directly they won't consider it even given the circumstsances. If it goes faulty I'll just have to go through small claims court with the installer. I'm more relieved it was installed by someone who was qualified at least.

OK this will make you laugh... Cert updated to show "unvented" now.....but the engineer who was named on the previous cert has changed to someone esle.... What the hell is going on

OK magically a building compliance slip as turned up from the GSR However two errors 1) The address is slightly wrong it states the wrong county even those the house address and post code is correct 2) it says "Install a hot water system with vented hot water storage" when it was an unvented...

I've never been asked to provide a G3 unvented cert which is why this caused all the confusion if I even needed one. They only ever ask for the GSR when I sold my last two properties

Cheers! So much for a G3 like body like the GSR forcing them to do this! If there's no risk of getting caught no wonder companies don't do paperwork properly!

Update - Installer and housebuilder still ignoring me LABC said it's not their problem it's down to the CPS they used (still haven't confirmed which CPS if any) GSR won't help as they confirmed they aren't the CPS for this installer and it's not a gas safety issue Trading standards can't help...

OK the install was done by a person who is G3 registered through the GSR. I've checked their records and it does say "unvented systems". However they didn't do any of the commissioning paperwork nor notify LABC. And I still don't have a compliance certificate. They don't seem to be forthcoming...

Will do. I just can't believe a house builder with all the NHBC and regulations they'd cock up on something like this

That's exactly what the BC said. Question is how do you find out which third party inspectors? Builders are just acting as a middleman so whatever I said just gets passed onto the installer. But then I don't get a response back.

Thing is I rang Building control and they said they don't do them anymore and told me to refer to a CPS. The installer is still about but they said it's the builders problem.

If they refuse any of this - whom do I report them to?

I'm trying. Rang them today and they just kept saying "it's down to the house builder to register with the LABC". Dunno why they are being so hard work
