Inigo if you suspect a gas leak i repeat my above advice. Call 0800 111 999. They will send someone out to tet your gas pipework for free. If they find anything wrong then you'll have to call out a gas safe registered engineer to trace and repair it. You're better safe than sorry.

The rayburn has already been removed. Not likely to have been a bad batch off pumps. Does the system fill up with air all the time?, do you have to vent radiators all the time?. Might be a leak in the system or its drawing air in to the system, if the pumps are running dry they'll soon fail.

What is the water quality like inside the heating circuit?, sounds like the water quality isn't up to much.

Does it ony do it when the shower is running?, what about other taps or when your heating the radiators?.

Not really, definately getting one with avhard a hard top, other than that i'm open to suggestions.

Dan,whats that got to do with me as an engineer?,there definately seems to be real bitterness towards bg engineers on this forum, thats why i originally posted this question to start with. At the end off the day i go out each day and do my job honestly and professionally, i could go on slagging...

Sunnie, we do advise customers what parts are req'd,and the parts numbers on our systems are gas council numbers and manufacturers numbers,as for cooling off time, we only advise customers we don't "sell", if the cust wants to buy a new boiler from us then an advisor would come out and discuss...

If the part was obsolete, we check our laptops,then our parts helpdesk and finally the manufactuers parts desk if they say te parrt is unavailable then thats as far as we go, so why mis-selling?, we can only follow our procedures.

Seco your right mate, most of those acl actuators that stick are caused by the valve body becoming seized, best to check the valve body aswell.

The pump is running all the time because one off those white plastic valves are siezed,they are your zone valve and it is them that supply power to your pump and boiler,as with the post above if your radiators are heating then its your heating valve or hot water valve if water hot all the time.

What make off boiler is it?, best getting a qualified engineer out to check over it.

You need to check where your controls are eg your pump etc, it sounds like you have an s plan system and the hot water zone valve is faulty. They most likely will be fitted where your hot water cylinder is.

The truth hurts?, nah m8 it doesn't. The whole point about this thread was to me it seems like there are a lot of people that like to jump on the bg bashing bandwaggon, i just wanted to say like raden there are good and bad on both sides. F&@k me this is getting to serious. I'm off to bed. :D
