Any idea what's causing this smell?

Any idea what's causing this smell?

Oh blimey! If one shouldn't use it it shouldn't be for sale to the general public! The outside drain itself doesn't smell, it's the basin I think which I have hopefully sorted now. There was some stuff on the grating but I have cleaned that off now.

Any idea what's causing this smell?

Thank you all for your replies, which I didn't realise I had! The bathroom had a new fan put in it fairly recently, so I think the electrician would have noticed any melting, but I wasn't aware of that so I will bear it in mind, thank you. I put some of those sink-unblocking crystals down the...

Any idea what's causing this smell?

Thank you. The little basin in the bathroom does drain slowly although I thought this was because it has a small plughole! Can you recommend a product to give it a good blast please? Bath & shower are fine and were cleaned out by my plumber at the same time as the loo was fitted.

Any idea what's causing this smell?

My bathroom smells occasionally of drains. I live in a ground floor flat with a drain right outside. The washing machine, dishwasher and kitchen sink all go into this drain. I had it cleared by a drain chap a couple of months ago who said I should run clear water through it once a week for 15...

    Extractor fan noise and vibration

Thanks again for your replies. I have stuck a load of weatherstrips underneath the fan casing and my neighbour seems a lot happier. Tomorrow morning (it wakes him when I have a shower) will be the crux, but I have it on at the moment and he said he couldn't hear it at all. Fingers crossed! I...

    Extractor fan noise and vibration

After much fan-nying around it appears to be that the case for the fan is vibrating against the wall. When I removed the case the vibration was much reduced. Obviously I can't use it without a case but hopefully I can put the weather strips on it?

    Extractor fan noise and vibration

Thank you for your reply. I don't think it was as they seem to have done a rather botched job with it hence I thought if anything this one would be better! The electrician recommended some weatherstrips from Screwfix; is that the kind of thing you mean?

    Extractor fan noise and vibration

I have moved into a ground floor flat. There was an extractor fan in the bathroom but it only went on and off when the light went on & off, so I asked my electrician to fit a new one which he did. The fan is very quiet but my neighbour upstairs complains of vibration through the walls. The...
