That sounds much harder. I think I will just buy an old style pump and replace the head . Any recommendations on places to buy refurbished or is it much of a muchness? Thanks guys

Just a couple more questions if that's ok . Could I just replace the head with the 4 bolts ? , and leave the plastic bit where it is ? . Would the new style pumps be quieter? Thanks Dave

Hi my trusty old baxi 105e is starting to get a bit noisy, the sound is coming from the pump . I've noticed you can get loads of refurbished pumps on eBay for around £50 . Is it worth buying refurbished or am I better off buying a new one ? Thanks Dave

It could be a burning oil smell

Hi I just had my 2011 VW Polo in the garage for a service and MOT . Since I got it back I can smell fumes coming out of the air vents but only when I reverse. Any idea what it could be ? I looked under the car to see if the exhaust was damaged but it seems ok . Thanks

I had it jacked up with the wheel off on the weekend but I was just looking for stones in the guard around the disk . I'll jack it up again this weekend

Hi John I did gently press the brake and the squeaking noise stopped. Does this mean it's definitely brakes related?

I'll give that a go but surely it shouldn't need it yet considering the pads and disks are only 3 months old. Thanks

Well after 3 months of noise free motoring my car has developed a squeaky brake noise . The strange thing is the squeaking only happens after around 5 minutes of driving and it squeaks mostly when I turn right. Any ideas before I head to the garage ( so I can point him in the right direction )...

It was a wheel bearing. Apparently it was only gone on one part if that makes any sense
