LEAKING ON THE PIPE JOINT TO THE TOILET BOWL

I hope it's not your wall is moving! Assuming your toilet pan is fixed to the floor, it maybe unlikely that the leak is actually coming from the toilet pan connector, that you show in the picture. As you point out that the cistern has moved and is obviously not fixed to the wall then...

Advice sought from tradesmen about a tradesman!

Pump connections incorrectly fitted. Both hot and cold feed not to suggested connection points. ie hot first draw off cylinder/flange connection and cold separate feed from cold water tank. Hence the problems you are having. The only pump I know that is forgiving when incorrectly...

    Game of Ping Pong?

Spoke to our local trading standards and he confirms the above, which is why Tapsuk are not even answering my emails. Still not resolved yet as I'm awaiting return of the customer from holiday, but I'm hoping she will accept a repair. If not then I'll fit a replacement, carry on...

If you had stripped down the valve, for the cost of a new diaphragm why didn't you just change it?

Need some second opinions on new hep installation work

My preference when using hep is for underfloor only with no joints. If walls and flooring is to be tiled then copper all the way. More expensive materials and labour, but darn sight cheaper than taking tiles back off, should a leak occur. Assuming of course copper is installed correctly and...

    Custards, etc....

And then when you've done the job, they either disappear down the shops just before you finish or don't have their chequebook to hand. Two to three weeks later after chasing them you get paid. You don't go down to Sainsbury's and at the till say "I forgot my debitcard so I'll drop...

    Shower hot water

Take shower valve out and give it a clean. It could be caked in limescale. Also if the valve has filters on the inlets clean them also.

shower waste to washing machine waste

Agree with Hugh. You may get away with the layout at first with 40mm but washing machines do pump out a load of crud, which can build up in the pipes, so have at least a 1 in 40 fall on the pipes and up size to 50mm if possible, with rodding tees, after the shower joint. :)

    More thermostatic shower questions

In emergency check you can turn off your mains from the water company stop valve outside your property. If you are on a water meter you will probably be ok, otherwise you might find a load of muck down there. If you are unable to turn off outside get the water company to check (free of charge)...

Can you get a system any more wrong, and I still hate combis

If you had a problem with BG install, why have you not called them back, instead of trying to balance the system, obviously not knowing what you are doing, from what you have written.! I'm not having a go, but your making a lot of assumptions, before corrections are made-professionally.

    Where to find an apprentice

Ask them a few simple basic questions. Their answers could give you an initial clue to giving them a trial. Had one years ago said 'why do I need to know maths!'

No cold water in bathroom basin

On her toilet it could be the diaphragm washer is sticking hence the slow fill.(assuming she has that type of washer). Turn off to the cold tap in the bathroom you may find on the outlet to cold water tank - if it's not stiff. Starting to get beyond Mrs DIY? :o

    Shower hot water

Yes. Have you had problems with the shower in the past, or has it just started? A thermostatic shower valve would be the first place I would look at.

Combi Boiler and Cold Water Tank

You won't necessarily need to change the toilet valve. It may only need a high pressure valve insert. Taps will be no different to the hot taps already. How did you propose to reduce the pressure? Changing a toilet valve would be darn sight cheaper than installing a pressure reducing valve...
