    Biasi/Savio 428S - Roomstat or not ?

HI Dont want to get paranoid, but have set the auto settings now with a view to using 'Manual' when I want to over-ride. I have it Manual today as we are at home all day. Just a couple of things: (Tony Glazier's point taken, but I just cant leave 'new' alone..until I trust it's ok) 1...

    Biasi/Savio 428S - Roomstat or not ?

THanks D_H Answers probably as expected. I didnt want to believe the unit was fault, moreso that I was 'under-estimating' the power of the algorithm. I will give it 24 hours play and report back - nice and warm though... Steve

    Biasi/Savio 428S - Roomstat or not ?

Well, I have installed the new Honeywell today and have to admit it is doing a few unexpected things, but believe I may be trying to use human logic versus algorithm. It seemed to take a while to settle down, 1. I had to re-bind it when I installed it and again an hour later - seems to be...

    Biasi/Savio 428S - Roomstat or not ?

Thanks HappyPlumber It is probably just me thinking that the Danfoss works (but may not tomorrow...) and also getting used to progging the timer remotely from the boiler ! SB

    Biasi/Savio 428S - Roomstat or not ?

Thanks again DH did some web reseach last night and discovered that the 200 had been superceded. I have decided to go 'wireless' and am just wondering now about whether to get just a roomstat or go for a programmable roomstat (CMT921). The clock on the boiler went faulty many years ago...

    Biasi/Savio 428S - Roomstat or not ?

Thanks for that reply D_H I have a Danfoss 102 doing the programming, but my backround in electronics/electrics means I would have no probs complying as you say. so the next Q is which roomstat ? - is the Honeywell DT200 ok - seems simple enough to incorporate. Regards and Thanks again...

    Biasi/Savio 428S - Roomstat or not ?

Hi I have had several great replies to my questions re this boiler and its past issues, but I have probably the simplest general question to ask now. This system was not installed with a roomstat, (pump always running) and for years I have adjusted house temp via boilers stat.ie quarter on...

    Erratic DHW on Savio 424s

Tony Tried to contact you last night and tonight via numbers on your DIYNOT profile - but went to a/machine and you advised not to leave message. I also sent an email to the email address in your profile - but no reply as yet - is that email address up to date? Look forward to contact...

    Erratic DHW on Savio 424s

Tony Think I am barking up the wrong tree here, and have misled you. I have just had another go at analysis and decided to start from scratch ie what works and what doesnt to establish a clear picture. AND I can report that i DO have the same issue on CH and DHW. On demand, the boiler...

    Erratic DHW on Savio 424s

Tony I have not had a chance to remove and clean, but have managed to measure flow return temps, albeit with a digital cooking thermometer clamped to flow and returns whilst hot tap open for 5 mins or so. The readings I got were about 65c flow and about 40c return (measured at outlet...

    Erratic DHW on Savio 424s

Well Tony After expriencing a 'senior moment' (which lasted a few days...) I can report back on the differential between flow and return. I was previously puzzling how to get at flow and return on the plate until finally realizing that the flow and return from bolier and above pump are...

    Erratic DHW on Savio 424s

Tony ( and spectators !) Have had a go at a few things you mention. Simple one first - subbed 10K for sensor and symptoms the same - suggesting the DHW probe is actually ok. Reconnected. Unsure which are the flow/return pipes in order to identify differential. Boiler is in tight...

    Erratic DHW on Savio 424s

Tony - wow what a fast response (as usual) It doesn't affect the CH at all - thats great, just DHW. Re the cycle, yes I agree as it is only six seconds theres no real detection of water temp change at tap. I do have to say that I am sure when this started, the cycle was longer than 6 seconds...

    Erratic DHW on Savio 424s

HI all Sorry for delay in replying but wanted to get into the throes of Summer before taking the boiler down. My last reply was in response to Tony Agile who agreed that it did indeed look like it was the plate heat exchanger that was blocked causing the on/off cycle of burner during hot...

    Erratic DHW on Savio 424s

To confirm. 24 hours no drips from PRV, so that sorted. Stilll getting fluctuations in DHW temp, but less so when DHW temp control reduced. Going away for a few days so will remove DHW HE on return and clean/replace. Incidentally I am based in the NW with quite soft water, do the HE's...

    Erratic DHW on Savio 424s

Tony - UPDATE Two items appear un-related, I have had a go at the PRV (on/off/on/off etc) and the dripping has stopped. Also it is a 428s not 424s, but dont think that unduly affects diagnosis, just a different DHW HE if I need to replace. Steve
