    Design Software

After I've done all the wiring that I need to do re: the CU change in my house, I would like to be able to print off a Cct Schematic to leave alongside the CU. I know there is software out there called Amtech but that appears to be far in excess of what I actually need. I know this sounds a...

    Switch options

Does anyone make a 2G 2-Way light switch ( preferably S/Steel or satin chrome ) with at least one of the switches complete with a neon ? Reason being is that I keep leaving the loft lights on after I've been in there & I thought a neon would help me remember  I've looked all over but...

    OMIGOD !!

The four wires in view are as follows :- A three core flex, wired into a PLUG !!!! plugged into a double socket in the Boiler Cupboard, which is off the upstairs ring (another bit of re-wiring I have to do then  ) Feed to the Pump Feed into the boiler - gas-valve I suppose...

Bathroom Extractor Fan Incorrectly Wired ?

 First one wasn't a measurement, it was just a presumption. Then when I actually measured I realised that the ceiling isn't 8' as I'd guessed  Shame it isn't the same as the rest of the house - old 9' ceilings there & that would've let me fit the isolator. Bath is 1785mm long...

    OMIGOD !!

Sounds good Softus, would those be available at any of the sheds ? Most of the Electrical Shops shut in Hull on Saturday at dinnertime & I've only just got up  I need time to come to life.

Bathroom Extractor Fan Incorrectly Wired ?

I looked at the zone pictures late last night and I was going to ask this morning if that was the case. One bit of good news anyway. The Ceiling is only 2.25M :( Another place for the switch needs to be found then. They take the short route on the extension, perpendicular to the...

    17stone

I woudn't have thought that 17 stone for your height would be that bad. You are 6" taller than me & my weight varies between 13-1/2 & 14 stone, I wouldn't consider myself overweight.

    OMIGOD !!

Judging by the size of the joint, I can't believe that there is any sort of mechanical connection under that tape. I would be surprised if there is any solder either. I just can't believe what people will do to save a few quid. Maybe there ought to be more safety programs on TV or...

Bathroom Extractor Fan Incorrectly Wired ?

Nps rocky, thanks anyway. I realise that I need to find out a lot of stuff before I actually take the job on of changing out the CU and assorted wiring around the house. I want to do this right, so I've got plenty of patience. Best thing is, even though the house is still a bit of a tip from...

    OMIGOD !!

If you lads remember, in one of my previous posts I suggested that the previous homeowner in my house might have done a lot of the wiring himself because of the strange things I was encountering whilst checking around ? Well, I think I have just confirmed that. I had a little problem with the...

Bathroom Extractor Fan Incorrectly Wired ?

So are you saying that I shouldn't really have a florrie fitted in the bathroom, even if I fit a sealed unit ? I know it's only personal preference in my case but I really do like that sort of light in that area. As stated in previous posts, I am going to contact the LABC about what I propose...

Bathroom Extractor Fan Incorrectly Wired ?

The fan is directly above one end of the bath. I don't mind doing any extra masonry work as it's only a 4" one and frankly, it's just about useless at shifting any reasonable amount of steam. :( Thanks for the info guys but, as BAS pointed out, if I have to work on it in the future and I...

Have BT got their wires crossed?

Extensions can be plugged into any socket that BT or KC have fitted yes but only NTE5A's can be hardwired into, via the lower removable faceplate.
