Bathroom Extractor Fan Incorrectly Wired ?

Thanks BAS, think I needed a shove to get the brain into gear, I'm with it now - finally  Seems to be a pretty intelligent move to me really, I can see the point of the TP now. So in my case, the TP would prolly be best on the wall, in between the feed from the light & the fan. At...

Bathroom Extractor Fan Incorrectly Wired ?

Think I'm having a Brain-Fart with this one guys :? I just started looking for tp isolators on the net - sheds - eBay etc & they all appear to be switches, As I said earlier, the fan comes on automatically as soon as we turn the bathroom light on, I don't want to have it turned on manually...

    Box sinkers!

I find the best thing to use when sinking back-boxes is my Makita SDS drill with roto-stop. It turns a pita job into a breeze. Still usually have to use a hammer + chisel to finish it off though. Thankfully I don't get many guvvies where they want the socket flush.

Bathroom Extractor Fan Incorrectly Wired ?

Nope, this is my bathroom I'm afraid to say. I certainly think that the extractor must have been fitted as part of an afterthought by the original owners. Please tell me that no qualified spark would do work like that ? I'm not a sparkie but even I can see that there is summat wrong with that...

Bathroom Extractor Fan Incorrectly Wired ?

I've been looking through the wiki, using it as a reference guide to see if anything in my house needs sorting when I came across this :- Clicky When you look at the actual installation in my bathroom :- I can't see how a triple pole isolator could have been fitted anywhere in this...

Have BT got their wires crossed?

As Saxondale say, don't worry about it. There may be anything up to 20 joints in the feed from the Exchange to your property & all it takes is one jointer to misadvertently cross a and b leg in a joint of old and new cable colour codes and there's your cross. ( Don't ask how I know this :P )...

    Pumping Dog

Solo, I think some dogs are just predisposed to farting. Our previous Rotty, Zeus hardly ever broke wind & even if he did it was one of the usual pffsst noises. But our current Rotty Roxy could Guff for England  And they're not just quiet ones either, they sound like someone has really put...

No, because Jail is too easy. Easy one is this - Hung Drawn & Quartered. The Medieval guys had some things right in my eyes. Or possibly castration with no anaesthetic. Women should be left in a room full of other female parents - no holds barred.

ELECTRIC METER - MOVING ONE 2.5" TO AN OUTSIDE WALL

I thought at first that the quote I received for a meter move was extortionate until I started to realise what was involved. I can get small belts off telephone cables when I'm working on them and that's only 75 volts when ringing. If a dno jointer has to work live on a cable to re-joint a...

Electric meter being upgraded by DNO

That's the first test that the guy did after he replaced my Cutout on Monday. I was quite surprised that he didn't do an earth test, seeing as he told me there wasn't a proper Main Earth into my property because of the badly fitted old cutout. Good job I didn't say anything coz he then went...

    Help with Telephone socket.

You will prolly have got this done for nowt coz you knew the installer. You wouldn't believe what the actual charges are for moving the NTE/Lead-In As I said earlier Dave, if you get a pedantic installer come down to do the work that is required ( which bearing in mind BT will know about...

    Help with Telephone socket.

Not exactly 100% there. It all depends on how pedantic the installer is ( if any ) on the visit. BT may say that they've re-activated the line but it's testing disconnected ( which it will if there's no socket ) & as far as I know, the FULL charge will be levied for reconnection  It was...
