    Advice needed.

I've used that Bin 123 previously. Still sanded though. Just checked the tin and it says that it can be applied without sanding. Confused now.

    Advice needed.

Not the reply I was looking for. *sob* Five panelled doors, architraves, a rake of skirting, both sides of the stairs, was hoping there'd be a shortcut. Ah well, better stock up on Norwegian formula hand cream. Thanks for the reply.

    Advice needed.

Hi all. Looking to paint over oil based gloss with water based. BUT, I don't think I can face all the sanding involved. Is there any products/methods you guys can suggest that would help me eliminate the sanding stage? TIA

    Outside light question

Cheers for the replies. I was aware of the stand alone PIR's but was looking for other options. I've had another think and I'm not sure my idea would work. Since these lights have a length of pre-wired cable I thought that I could take a live feed from the neutral in a JB to another light. My...

    Outside light question

Existing 500w PIR floodlight has packed up and needs to be replaced, 8w/15w PIR would do. Would also like to install another 8w floodlight without PIR that comes on at the same time. Could this be done? I was thinking maybe picking up power from the neutral core of the first light? Not a spark...

    Fixing upvc skirting.

No up-selling. Just said skirting was in with the price. Had read articles saying T&G floor boards were no good in conservatories, assumed that applied to trims. Upvc architraves were also fit. This was to hide the plasterers cock-up. Noticed this morning they were coming off as well. So best...

    Fixing upvc skirting.

It was installed by the "Professional Company" who constructed the conservatory. I'm led to believe timber skirting would be no good in a conservatory environment. I've bought some pink grip now. Just contemplating whether to stick the loose bit back on, or rip it all off and fix it properly.

    Fixing upvc skirting.

Hi all. Looking for recommendations for a decent method of fixing upvc skirting to a plastered wall. Don't know what the "professional" used but it hasn't lasted three months. TIA P. S. Tried to post a pic but I keep getting a "Security Error" message.

    Moisture Resistant Chipboard Flooring Fumes

John and JobAndKnock Just read a couple of interesting articles concerning off/out gassing of particle board products. Looks like ventilation might be the way forward for now. This was supposed to be my bolt hole away from the missus and her TV programmes. At least someone gave me wireless...

    Moisture Resistant Chipboard Flooring Fumes

Hi Nige F. I've got some Bullseye 123. It says primer sealer on the tin. I'll give that a go. Cheers.

    Moisture Resistant Chipboard Flooring Fumes

Yeah, that's the stuff. I think it doesn't half pong. Maybe it's just a natural chipboard smell? Either way, it doesn't agree with me.

    Moisture Resistant Chipboard Flooring Fumes

Recently replaced the old damaged floorboards in a bedroom with this stuff. Haven't carpeted it yet as it was just going to be a "chill room" for me. Problem is, the stuff stinks. Have put air fresheners in the room to mask the smell but I can still feel and taste the effects of the "fumes". Any...

    Quick question

It was just a post I had read elsewhere. Some guy said he washed the walls down with soapy water. Thought I might be missing something.

Cheers opps. Full fat acrylic? I've read that's a no-no. I bet you walk under ladders as well? @

    Quick question

I've had some walls skimmed recently and I'm ready to apply the mist coat. Do I need to wash the walls down prior to painting them.? I've only seen one guy anywhere suggest that but it's preying on my mind. Maybe the other hundred posters of advice were forgetful and omitted that piece of...

    Fence Repair

I've got the fence braced with scaff boards now. Seems pretty solid in the current breeze. Was just a bit concerned that even the slightest movement might spoil the final result. Jury is still out on the postcrete stuff. Some seem to swear by it, others suggest a concrete dry mix. Job is...
