    cut the pipes,use two elbows,two lengths of pipe and two flexi's.Push fit will do if you don't want to use solder or compression. Extend the waste with a piece of pipe but you may need to cut the vertical bit of waste so as the elbow sitis on the floor boards and that will give you a good fall...

    The water might be from around the outside of the pipe and not inside ? If so check the flashing around the pipe.

    It only takes a small leak over a period of time to drop the pressure so check out all the rad valves first.Also check out the blow off pipe(prv) that terminates outside.It could be the expansion vessel but check for leaks first.

    Just wrap the short bits of unsleeved pipe in tape to protect from lime in the cement and fill. Denso tape is what is normally used but any protective tape will do.

    If the gate valve is above the cylinder then the cylinder will not empty when you replace it.Just turn off mains,drain down the tank and do it.

    Yes you do otherwise you will have to silver solder and that requires Borax as a flux which as madrab says is not suitable for potable water.

    Use a pipe sealant if you get no joy with ptfe or remove olives,clean again and fit new olives with a smear of sealant on the olives.Copper olives tighten easier than brass
